Ephesians 6:17 says "Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

Roman soldiers used shields that could lock together. When they stood side by side, they were stronger.

Your faith works the same way.

You were not made to follow Jesus alone. You need people who will encourage you, pray for you, and help you stand when life gets hard.

Find your people. Lock shields. Stay strong.

Life has a way of reminding us that we’re not in control.
One day, everything feels manageable. The next day, anxiety hits, relationships feel tense, temptation feels strong, and you wonder, “Why is this so hard?”

Jesus never promised that life would be trouble-free. In fact, He said the opposite. We will face trouble. We will walk through hard seasons. We will experience pain, conflict, disappointment, and uncertainty.

But Jesus also gives us a promise: He will be with us.
And that changes everything.

Following Jesus doesn’t mean you suddenly avoid every storm. It means you don’t have to face the storm by yourself. It means peace is possible even when circumstances are not peaceful. It means hope can still be real even when life feels heavy.

Maybe you’ve tried to do life on your own. Maybe you’ve carried the weight, made your own way, and hoped things would eventually get better.

But what if the most important thing you could get right is not your career, your image, your relationship status, or your plans?
What if the most important thing is your relationship with Jesus?

He offers forgiveness.
He offers peace.
He offers direction.
He offers a new way to live.

You don’t have to have everything figured out to come to Him. You just have to be willing to take a step.

“Jesus, if You are real, show me who You are.”
He is not far away. He is near.
And life with Jesus is better than life without Him.

Unity is a crucial principle in the church and in football.

We were able to host the Foley Lions during our football Sunday service and what an honor it was. We believe in a unified church, a unified team, and a unified community. This team has great leadership on and off the field and it is a blessing to be able to come alongside of them. Continue to pray for our next generation and this wonderful group of kids!

Here are practical steps from a recent message:

1. Prioritize time with God
2. Pray and meditate on Scripture
3. Practice discernment and self-control
4. Stay connected with other believers
5. Guard your heart and mind with godly thoughts

The best defense is a good offense. Don’t wait until life falls apart to seek God. Build your life on Him now.

Maybe you believe in God, but you have never truly surrendered your life to Jesus.
Maybe you grew up around church, but faith has always felt like something outside of you.
Maybe you have heard Bible verses before, but you have never experienced a real relationship with God.
Maybe you have been trying to be a good person, but deep down you know something is still missing.

The invitation of Jesus is simple, but life-changing: Come to Me. Trust Me. Follow Me. Let Me make you new.

You do not become right with God by being religious enough, by comparing yourself to others, by pretending your sin is not serious, or by trying harder.

You are made right with God through faith in Jesus Christ.

He died for your sin.
He rose again in victory.
He offers forgiveness, peace, and new life.

Today could be the day you stop running, pretending, and trying to fix yourself without God. Today could be the day you surrender.

You can pray something like this:
“Jesus, I know I need You. I know I have sinned, and I cannot make myself right with God on my own. I believe You died for me and rose again. I surrender my life to You. Forgive me, restore me, and lead me from this day forward. Amen.”

If that prayer reflects your heart, tell someone. Reach out. Ask questions. Take the next step. Jesus is not inviting you into empty religion. He is inviting you into life.
