Foley FFA

Today is , so we want to take a minute to tell you a little about our agriscience teachers at Foley High.

We have 3 amazing agriscience teachers that specialize in different areas:
Mr. Clem - Animal Science
Mr. Lipscomb - Industrial Agriculture
Mr. Pate - Plant Science

They teach 9 different classes in their respective areas and reach approximately 350 students everyday! All of our teachers are great at what they do, and we are so happy they are our ag teachers and FFA Advisors! Thank you to our “owls,” Mr. Clem, Mr. Lipscomb, and Mr. Pate!

“The owl is the time-honored emblem of knowledge and wisdom. Being older than the rest of you, I am asked to advise you from time to time, as the need arises. I hope that my advice will always be based on true knowledge and ripened with wisdom.”

Last week, we held our first chapter meeting of the year. We ARE excited to keep up the momentum!

Last week, our 2026-2027 Chapter Officers and some other members spent the week in Montgomery for the 98th Annual Alabama FFA Convention. Members competed in the employability skills and the ag mechanics competitions. We had 4 graduated seniors be recognized on stage for earning their FFA State Degrees, which is the highest honor the state association can award its members. The chapter was also recognized on stage for our National Chapter Award application that earned a Silver rating. Our application will be submitted to the National FFA Organization for judging, and we will be recognized on stage in Indianapolis this fall at the National FFA Convention and Expo. For some of our members, this was their last event as a Foley FFA member, and we wish them the best in all of the future endeavors! Our current officer team is excited for a year full of possibilities! This was a great way to kick off our summer!

We are excited for State Convention! Good luck to everyone participating today!
