⚾️Part 1 of 3 for Pitchers⚾️

Coach Max breaks down one of the most overlooked parts of pitching... what you do before you ever throw your first pitch.

Getting your body ready before every outing isn't just about feeling loose, it's about preparing to perform at your highest level while reducing your risk of injury.

A consistent pre-game routine helps you:
⚾ Activate the right muscles
💪 Protect your arm and body
🔥 Maximize velocity, command, and confidence when you take the bump

The work you put in before the game often determines what happens during the game.

Join M. Mathers (Class of 2030 | Mabank HS) as she works through her transfer progressions for throw downs.

One of the biggest separators between good catchers and elite catchers is the speed and efficiency of the transfer.

Elite catchers get the ball from glove to hand faster, cleaner, and with less wasted movement. That's why this progression is a major focus in our training. Build the transfer, and the pop time follows.

Every rep has a purpose. Every detail matters.

Coach Matt working with O. McDowell on delivering the barrel more efficiently with the top hand.

This is an isolated, over-exaggeration drill designed to help the athlete FEEL how the top hand should work through the swing. Sometimes slowing things down and exaggerating a movement is the fastest way to build the right pattern. This works well for regular hitters as well as slappers.

The goal is to create awareness, reinforce efficient barrel delivery, and help the body learn what the correct movement feels like.

Building power from the ground up. 💥🥎

Coach Laney was with pitchers E. Stapp and B. Vaughn, focusing on creating a more explosive lower half.

Velocity and consistency don't just come from the arm they start with how efficiently you move through the ground. By developing stronger leg drive, better force production, and improved sequencing, these athletes are building a foundation that will translate to more powerful, repeatable pitches.

The details matter. The work isn't always flashy, but it's what separates good from great.

Keep stacking days. Keep trusting the process.

People often ask why athletes spend countless hours practicing and sacrificing when the odds of reaching the big leagues or competing on the national or world stage are so small.

The answer is simple.

It was never just about the sport.

It's about the person being built through the sport.
Every early morning. Every late night. Every drop of sweat. Every setback. Every obstacle they overcome.

They're building discipline. They're building work ethic. They're building accountability. They're building resilience. They're building character.

Those qualities will outlast any trophy, scholarship, or championship.

That's why the sacrifice is worth it.

Because the greatest victory isn't the athlete you become it's the person you become along the way.

Last weekend wasn't about training athletes... it was about training ourselves.

On one of our rare free days, the REZ Sports training staff came together to organize our facility and spend hours taking a deep dive into hitting. We broke down mechanics, discussed the "why" behind what we teach, evaluated drills, challenged each other's ideas, and focused on the methods we know help our athletes succeed.

Why?

Because our athletes deserve consistency. They deserve trainers who are speaking the same language, teaching the same standards, and reinforcing the same principles every time they walk through our doors.

This is how we establish the REZ Standard.
This workshop was centered on hitting, but it's only the beginning. We can't wait to continue these training workshops as we dive into the other skill sets we train, ensuring every athlete receives the highest level of instruction possible.

We're committed to being lifelong students of the game because if we expect our athletes to keep growing, we have to do the same.

Thank you to our training staff for sacrificing part of your weekend to invest in one another and, ultimately, in every athlete who trusts us with their development.

We're thankful for a team that is committed to serving others with excellence—on and off the field.

Weekends are valuable, yet last weekend our trainers willingly invested their time to grow, learn, and become the very best they can be for every athlete who walks through our doors.

After the inner-team workshop wrapped up, the camera captured a special moment for us ... our REZ trainers coming together in prayer. We believe the greatest impact we can make isn't just through better drills or better instruction, but through humble hearts that seek God's wisdom and guidance.

Never underestimate the power of prayer. It strengthens, unifies, gives wisdom, and reminds us that what we do is about so much more than sports!

Stay tuned for some video cuts from our inner-team workshop!!

One of the easiest ways to make an eternal impact is through a simple act of kindness.

Next time youre at the REZ facility grab one, two, or even a handful! Challenge yourself to carry a few little Jesus figures in your backpack, bat bag, or pocket. When you see a teammate, classmate, coach, or friend who needs a little encouragement, give them one and remind them that Jesus loves them.

You don't have to preach a sermon to share your faith. Sometimes a small gift, a kind word, and a genuine conversation are all God uses to plant a seed.

As athletes, we're called to represent Christ not just in how we compete, but in how we love the people around us every single day.

Who will you encourage? ❤️✝️
