One of the first barriers to implementing alt text is understanding what makes *great* alt text.

There are tips and tricks (which we share in our blog post linked below), but even before that step that is *experiencing* really, really good alt text first-hand.

That's why we absolutely adore the Alt Text Selfies project. This project takes a well-known practice (the selfie) and approaches it through a disability lens.

This collection of alt text selfies (sans selfies) highlights how quality image descriptions can help people who can't access an image "see" what is right in front of them.
