Wondering if the 2027 federal Medicaid work requirements affect you?

Starting January 1, 2027, a new federal law referred to as “work requirements” will require some adults with Medicaid to complete and report work, school, work program or volunteer activities to keep their health coverage.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has its own work requirement rules that are more detailed than Medicaid’s.

Visit HealthFirstColorado.gov/Changes/Work to find out more.

Federal changes are coming to Colorado’s Medicaid program, Health First Colorado. Starting January 1, 2027, some adults ages 19 to 64 may need to complete and report work, school, work program or volunteer activities to keep their health coverage. These new rules are called work requirements — and they don’t apply to everyone.

What to do now:

Update your contact information at Colorado PEAK (co.gov/PEAK), the Health First Colorado app, or your county human services office.
Watch for official notices this fall by mail and through Colorado PEAK, and respond to any you receive.
Talk to someone you trust. You don’t have to figure this out alone.
For official guidance visit HealthFirstColorado.gov/Changes/Work.

This month, we're celebrating the culture, history, and achievements of Hispanic and Latine individuals in our community. And we're honoring it every month, not just this one.

Culture and identity are part of wellness. When we celebrate heritage, reduce stigma, and share resources that reflect people's lived experience, we make it easier for individuals and families to find support that truly fits them.

That's what equity in mental health looks like: everyone getting care that sees and respects who they are.

September 13-19 marks National Co-Response and Crisis Responder Week!

This year is significant as we celebrate 10 years of the co-response program in Loveland!

"We keep showing up, for as long as it takes," one co-responder shared. "When you see someone in their hardest moments finally take that step, it's a huge reward."

From 89 services in 2016 to over 3,500 services in 2025, this partnership shows what's possible when officers and co-responders show up together.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, help is available. Reach out to SummitStone any time.
