Our visit with the firefighters was one to remember! 🚒 We had an incredible time learning about fire safety, exploring the fire trucks, and even getting the chance to spray the fire hose. 💦

Every Monday, our participants enjoy adaptive yoga with the wonderful Casandra at Sumu Wellness! Through gentle movement, stretching, breathing exercises, and mindfulness, everyone has the opportunity to move at their own pace while building confidence and having fun.

Adaptive yoga is a great way to improve flexibility, balance, relaxation, and overall well-being and the smiles say it all!

🦴🌍 A day full of discovery at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science!

Our group spent the day exploring exhibits from around the world, walking among incredible dinosaur fossils, learning about wildlife, traveling through ancient Egypt, and even experiencing the stars. There was something exciting around every corner!

Community outings like these encourage curiosity, spark conversations, and create opportunities to learn together while making lasting memories. We had a fantastic day exploring, laughing, and sharing new experiences. ✨

Adventure was calling, and the Poudre River answered! 🌊☀️

Our group spent the day exploring, rock skipping, cooling off by the water, and taking in Colorado’s beautiful scenery. Community outings like these are a great way to stay active, build friendships, and make the most of summer.

🐴 A day at the barn = a day full of purpose! 💙

Our Shine members spent the day caring for horses by mucking stalls, cleaning barns, and helping keep the facilities looking their best. Every task was an opportunity to build valuable life and employment skills while working together as a team.

From learning responsibility and following directions to developing confidence through meaningful work, experiences like these help our members discover what they’re capable of. 😊

🍳🥪 Building independence, one recipe at a time!

Our Shine members have been having a blast in our adaptive cooking classes! They’ve been learning valuable kitchen skills while preparing a variety of delicious meals—from safely chopping vegetables and slicing sausage to assembling meatball sandwiches, measuring ingredients, cleaning up, and working together as a team.

Every cooking activity is an opportunity to build:

These everyday life skills help our members become more independent both at home and in the community. We are so proud of their hard work, willingness to learn, and the confidence they gain with every meal they create!

🐐🐓🌱 Our group spent the day volunteering at Sproutin' Up, a local nonprofit we’ve been proud to support for the past few years, helping with farm chores and caring for the animals.

From feeding chickens and goats to making sure the animals have fresh water and tidying up around the farm, everyone had the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, and connect with nature.

Volunteer experiences like these create meaningful opportunities for growth, teamwork, and giving back to our community. Thank you to Sproutin’ Up for welcoming us and sharing your space with us year after year! 💚

🌎 We spent the day learning how everyday choices can help create a healthier planet.

Our group visited the Larimer County Solid Waste Department, where we explored interactive exhibits, learned about recycling and waste reduction, and discovered practical ways to care for our environment. Community experiences like these help us build knowledge, confidence, and meaningful connections while having fun together.
