We had such a great time getting creative during a pottery class through Odd Fellows, a local nonprofit, led by the talented Faith Benefiel-Schutt. We love opportunities like this that give us a chance to learn something new, work with our hands, and see everyone’s creativity come to life.

And apparently, we have a clay wizard among us! 🧙‍♂️ Check out this phenomenal skull he created! 💀👏

This week, we celebrate the incredible Direct Support Professionals who are at the heart of Shine. 💛

Our DSPs do so much more than provide support. They build relationships, encourage independence, create opportunities, promote inclusion, and help make meaningful connections throughout our community.

We are incredibly grateful for the compassion, patience, energy, and heart they bring to Shine every single day. The work they do matters, and the difference they make reaches far beyond any one activity or moment.

We are proud to join the State of Colorado in recognizing September 13–19 as Direct Support Professionals Week and celebrating the amazing people who make this work possible.

We explored new places, spent time outside, tried new things, shared plenty of laughs and made the most of those last summer days together.

From little adventures to everyday moments, it’s the people we’re with and the memories we make along the way that make it all so good. 💛

We spent some time by the water casting lines, practicing our fishing skills, and patiently waiting for a bite. The fish may not have been cooperating, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying a beautiful day outside. ☀️🐟

Sometimes it’s not about the catch, it’s about the experience.

Our Shine members had another great day volunteering at the Food Bank for Larimer County. Opportunities like this give our members a chance to contribute to their community, build skills, work as a team, and experience the pride that comes from helping others.

We love seeing our members engaged, connected, and making a difference in the community, especially when there are this many smiles involved! ✨

At Shine, we believe some of the best experiences come from being active, engaged and connected within our community. Whether we’re enjoying the outdoors, discovering somewhere new or trying something different, each day brings opportunities to learn and grow. 💛

Just as important are the connections we make along the way. Spending time with people of all abilities, building relationships, sharing experiences and creating a greater sense of belonging for everyone.

We’re building confidence, encouraging independence, strengthening friendships and having plenty of fun along the way!

Museum inspiration ➡️ masterpieces in the park! 🎨✨

We spent the day exploring the Museum of Art Fort Collins and then took our creativity outside for a little painting in the park. 🌳🖌️ Such a fun way to explore, create, and spend time together in our community!

Our visit with the firefighters was one to remember! 🚒 We had an incredible time learning about fire safety, exploring the fire trucks, and even getting the chance to spray the fire hose. 💦

A huge thank you to the amazing crew at Poudre Fire Authority Station 6 for welcoming us and making the day so special. We truly enjoyed spending time with these everyday heroes! ❤️
