⭐️MAGGIE⭐️ wants to know why no one wants to meet her 🤔😥

She’s a compact little gal who just LOVES to play ball! Even indoors, she loves to jump up & catch it in the air.

She can play independently too! She loves the Kong wobbler toy & rolling around on her back 💗

MAGGIE is about 4-5 years old & great with people & kids. She prefers to be the only pet. Her ideal home would be a family, couple, or individual who would throw ball with her a few times a day. That’s it! She’d be up for a short trail walk or car ride for a pup cup too 🥰

2½ years. We really don’t get it either. 🫤

Edie is sweet, affectionate, loves kids, lives with cats, loves her walks and is always down for an adventure. She’s really the best girl. She can even do well with a calm dog with slow intros. She just appreciates a little personal space.

Basically? She’s been ready. She just needs someone to give her a chance. 🥺💖

Fostering isn’t the only way to make a difference for a rescue dog.

🐾Take one of our pups on a Doggy Date Out.
🐾 Host a weekend sleepover.
🐾 Go for a walk, grab a pup cup, hit the beach or just spend a few hours hanging out.

For some of our long-timers, a change of scenery and a little one-on-one time can be HUGE. It gives them new experiences, helps with socialization and lets us see even more of their personality out in the world.

And selfishly? We LOVE seeing our dogs out around town being their ridiculously cute selves. 😆

You don’t have to be ready to foster. You just have to be ready to hang with a really good dog.

This isn’t really a foster fail story.
Meet Thor, DHRA alum and OG Beefy Bro.

Thor came to DHRA in 2019 from a rural animal control facility after he was found roaming a country property.

He started with another foster family, but he was fearful, especially of men, and needed a quieter place to decompress without a timeline.

That place ended up being my house.

I’m Chelsea, DHRA’s Marketing & Communications Lead, and Thor was supposed to stay with us while he worked on being a little less suspicious of basically everything. 😂

His circle was tiny at first. Over time, it grew. He’s still wary of new people and situations, but he’s SO much braver now. He even likes a few men these days, with my husband being his favorite, which is a pretty big deal for Thor.

Mostly, he just fit. He found his place in our pack and made it pretty clear these were his people.

Thor chose us. And in the end, it was mutual.

Seven years later, we still got you Bubs. 💖🐾
