One of the most common things homeowners tell us after they build?

"I wish we would've made the porch bigger."

It becomes the place for morning coffee, watching storms roll in, family cookouts, and quiet evenings after work.

If you could add ONE feature to your dream home today, what would it be?

We’re hiring! 📣

Fort Recovery Lumber Co. is looking for a dependable, friendly, and organized individual to join our team in a Customer Service/Sales position.

The main focus of this position will be working directly with customers both in person and over the phone. Responsibilities will include helping customers determine what materials they need for their projects, assisting with product selections, answering questions about pricing and availability, preparing basic quotes and sales orders, and connecting customers with the appropriate salesperson or department for more involved projects.

This position will also include answering phones, assisting with receiving inventory into our computer system, reviewing receiving paperwork for accuracy, general office duties, and occasional bookkeeping, invoices, receipts, and other recordkeeping as needed.

We’re looking for someone who is:
• Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable working with customers
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working with computers and learning new software
• Willing to learn about building materials and the products we offer
• Able to work independently while also being part of a team

Sales, customer service, construction, or building-material experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person. Basic bookkeeping or accounting experience is also a plus, but not required.

We offer competitive hourly pay, health insurance, a SEP retirement plan, paid time off, paid holidays, an employee discount on building materials, and opportunities to learn and grow with a stable, locally owned company.

🏡 Would you live in a shouse?

Shouses aren't just a trend—they're changing the way people think about home.

Imagine stepping out of your kitchen and into your dream workshop.

No commute to the garage.
No lack of storage.
No wishing you had "just a little more space."

Whether it's room for your hobbies, your business, your toys, or simply the way you want to live, a shouse offers the flexibility to make it your own.

If you could design your dream shouse, what's one feature it *has* to include?

👇 Tell us in the comments!

Building isn't something most people do every day.

That's why asking questions now can save thousands later.

✔ Think about future storage.

✔ Plan for more outlets than you think you'll need.

✔ Make your doors bigger than today's equipment.

What would you add to the list?
