🦁❤️ LIFESAVING RESOURCES ARE MAKING THEIR WAY TO THE FORT WAYNE ZOO!

Three Rivers Ambulance Authority is proud to donate five Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to the Fort Wayne Zoo!

As part of our integration with the National Emergency AED and Resource (NEAR) Registry, these lifesaving devices will be strategically placed throughout the Zoo to help protect guests, staff, and volunteers in the event of a sudden cardiac emergency.

But this partnership is about more than placing AEDs on walls. It's about making sure lifesaving equipment is accessible when every second counts. ⏱️

Through NEAR, these AEDs will also be registered in Fort Wayne's publicly accessible network, helping 9-1-1 telecommunicators and first responders identify nearby lifesaving resources during cardiac emergencies.

We're grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Fort Wayne Zoo in strengthening emergency preparedness and helping create a safer community for everyone who visits, works, and volunteers there.

TRAA is excited to begin the trial phase of portable ultrasound technology in the field!

This innovative tool is currently being utilized by our supervisors during select cardiac arrest responses as we evaluate its effectiveness in the pre-hospital environment.

Point-of-care ultrasound has the potential to provide valuable real-time information during critical patient care situations, helping clinicians assess cardiac activity and support complex decision-making. Through this pilot program, we will gather feedback, evaluate operational considerations, and determine how this technology may enhance patient care in the future.

This trial represents another step in TRAA's commitment to advancing clinical excellence and exploring new tools that support our providers and improve outcomes for the communities we serve.

Three Rivers Ambulance Authority (TRAA) is looking for an experienced Certified Mechanic to join our team in Fort Wayne!

This isn't just another mechanic job — your work helps ensure our ambulances and emergency response vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready to respond when our community needs us most.

🔧 WHAT YOU'LL DO
You'll be responsible for keeping TRAA's fleet in top condition by:
• Performing preventative maintenance and inspections on ambulances, emergency response vehicles, fleet vehicles, and contracted fleet vehicles
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, steering, cooling, and other vehicle systems
• Troubleshooting emergency lighting, warning systems, sirens, and other emergency vehicle components
• Using computerized diagnostic equipment and specialized tools
• Responding to vehicle breakdowns and fleet maintenance needs
• Coordinating major repairs and working with outside vendors when needed
• Maintaining accurate maintenance and repair records
• Assisting with facility maintenance and other operational needs

🛠️ WHAT YOU BRING
✔️ High school diploma or GED
✔️ All ASE A-Series Automobile and Light Truck Certifications — required
✔️ Professional automotive, fleet, or heavy-duty mechanic experience
✔️ Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
✔️ Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment
✔️ Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
✔️ Emergency vehicle, ambulance, commercial vehicle, or heavy-duty experience is a plus!

In this role, you will:

🎓 Develop and deliver engaging clinical education, skills training, and simulations
🩺 Conduct clinical competency assessments and provide coaching and remediation
🚑 Support new employee orientation and clinical onboarding
📈 Use clinical trends and QI findings to identify and address training needs
🛡️ Support EVOS and other safety-related training
🤝 Mentor and develop EMTs, AEMTs, paramedics, and other clinical staff
⭐ Promote a culture of clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous learning

What We're Looking For

Current Indiana Paramedic certification
Current CPR/BLS, ACLS, PHTLS, AMLS, and PEPP
At least 1 year of progressive 911 EMS experience
Strong clinical knowledge and communication skills
A passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing others

Instructor certifications in AMLS, PHTLS, ACLS, EVOS, CPR, and PEPP will be obtained within the first year.

Today, we're proud to recognize some of our incredible TRAA dispatchers as they receive their CPR Saves for our Tree of Life. 🌳🚑

When someone calls 911 during a cardiac emergency, our dispatchers are often the first point of contact. Through calm communication, quick thinking, and lifesaving pre-arrival CPR instructions, they help turn frightened callers into lifesaving responders while our crews race to the scene.

These recognition's represent more than a certificate or a moment of recognition. Each one represents a life. A family. A story that gets to continue.

❤️ 100 PEOPLE. ONE COMMUNITY. ONE LIFE-SAVING MISSION. 🚑

Earlier this week we had 100 incredible people come together to learn and practice Hands-Only CPR—proving that you don't have to be a healthcare professional to make a lifesaving difference. When sudden cardiac arrest happens, the person standing closest to the victim may be their greatest chance of survival.

But this is about more than CPR. Through our partnership with PulsePoint (NEAR), TRAA has been working with businesses and organizations throughout our community to register their AEDs, making it easier for lifesaving equipment to be located when and where it is needed most.

Our goal is simple: bring our community together, connect the people who are ready to help with the resources that can save a life, and improve cardiac arrest survival in our community.

Seeing 100 people show up to support this mission was incredibly meaningful. It demonstrated exactly what is possible when our community comes together with one common goal: saving lives.

To everyone who participated, practiced CPR, supported the event, registered an AED, or helped make this initiative possible—THANK YOU. Your willingness to learn, participate, and be prepared could someday make the difference between life and death.
