Some catering jobs feed a room. Others remind you why the room matters.

We had the opportunity to cater INSPIRE 2026 at Electric Works, and it was one of those days.

It was great seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and being around so many people who spend their time working in and supporting neighborhoods throughout our community.

Our part was pretty simple: do what we do best and make sure everybody was fed. ❤️

Breakfast, fresh fruit, pastries, plenty of coffee, and then a whole lot of moving pieces behind the scenes to make it all come together.

Was it a challenge? Absolutely. 😂
But that’s catering. You plan, adjust, solve whatever pops up, and somehow by the time everyone arrives, it looks like it was supposed to happen that way all along."

We’re grateful we got to support the work happening in our community in a way that feels very natural to us: "bringing people together around food.**

Breakfast has a funny way of making a lot of work disappear.

By the time hashbrowns hit the plate, nobody is thinking about the potatoes being boiled, cooled, peeled, shredded and portioned first.

Nobody sees the ham getting sliced earlier, or the cook quietly keeping track of which burner runs cooler while trying to land several completely different meals at the same time.

You just get breakfast.

Hot coffee. Crispy potatoes. Eggs the way you ordered them.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, somebody is definitely saying they’re “not that hungry” while reaching across the table for someone else’s bacon. 😂

We’ll be OPEN this Labor Day! ☕️🍳

We’re just keeping the day a little shorter than usual:

🕖 Labor Day Hours: 7 AM to 2 PM

We recognize the people who work hard and keep things moving, and around here we know a little something about early mornings, long shifts, hot grills, and lots of coffee. 😄

So whether you have the day off, you’re still working, or you just don’t feel like cooking breakfast, come see us.

We’ll have the coffee brewing, the grill hot, and all your usual Waynedale favorites ready. ❤️

Monday: 7 AM to 2 PM

There’s a version of Waynedale Café most customers never see.

The lights are coming on.

Coffee is brewing.

The grill is slowly getting hot.

Someone is checking the salsa.

Someone else is looking for something that was definitely “right here yesterday.” 😂

And for a little while, the restaurant is strangely quiet.

Then 7 AM comes.

The door opens.

The first ticket prints.

Coffee starts getting refilled.

And somebody who came in “just for coffee” decides breakfast actually sounds pretty good. 😂

After doing this since 2009, there’s a rhythm to opening a restaurant. Most of it happens before anybody is there to see it.

And that's kind of the point.

Of course, there is one advantage to being one of the early ones. 😄 Come in early and you can catch our daily Early Bird Specials for just $9.99, with free coffee included. ☕️🍳

A little heads-up for our Waynedale Café family! ❤️

This Friday & Saturday will look a little different around here.

Almost our entire family will be away together for a special event, and since this really is a family-run restaurant, when the family leaves… well, we have to get a little creative. 😂

BUT we are still OPEN! 🙌

Friday & Saturday we’ll be serving:

🥡 Carryout
🚗 Delivery through DoorDash & Uber Eats

Our dining room will be closed for those two days, but the kitchen will still be cooking and ready to take care of you!

So if you’re craving breakfast, chilaquiles, tacos, burgers, or your usual Waynedale favorite, you can still get your fix. 😋

We really appreciate everyone’s understanding while our family gets to be together for something special. ❤️

And if you want to help keep the kitchen busy while we’re gone, place a carryout or delivery order!
