I hear this all the time: "My business is seasonal, so consistent owner pay just isn't realistic for me."
Yes. Seasonal cash flow is real. Summer slumps. January surges. Spring registration spikes. Those swings are genuinely hard to plan around.
Here is the reframe I want you to try.
Consistency does not have to mean the same dollar amount every single month. It means a reliable system, even if the numbers flex.
In a Profit First setup, that often looks like a reserves account. The busy months fund it. The slower months draw from it. Owner pay can stay steady even when revenue is not.
I have watched studio owners do this on a real calendar. Peak season money does not all get spent because it showed up. Some of it waits. Then January does not mean skipping your own paycheck.
Seasonal is not the same as unpredictable.
With the right system, you can plan for both.
If seasonality has been your reason for skipping owner pay, tell me what your slowest month looks like. I would love to hear it.

You may be a good fit for The Outrageous Money Goal Workshop if any of this sounds familiar:
✓ You set financial goals, then quietly negotiate them down before saying them out loud.
✓ You’ve been at the same revenue level for a while, even though you know you’re capable of more.
✓ You’ve done the strategy work, but something still seems to pull you back.
✓ Part of you wants significantly more money while another part tenses up at the thought.
✓ You want practical tools, not another pep talk about thinking bigger.
If you recognize yourself here, please know that hesitation isn’t a character flaw. It may be a protective response connected to old beliefs about safety, worth, or belonging.
On October 1 at 1 p.m. Eastern, Monica Bozinov will lead a free live workshop to help you see the response beneath the goal, calm your nervous system on purpose, and leave with an outrageous money goal of your own.
The session is live on Zoom, and a recording will be sent to everyone who registers.
I’ll put the registration link in the comments. Save your seat, then bring the number you’ve been afraid to name.
Your next client probably isn’t hiding in your Canva drafts. 👀
Go where the people are. Start conversations. Create opportunities. ✨

Here’s a small experiment for you.
Think of a financial goal that feels comfortable. Notice what happens in your body.
Now make the number significantly bigger.
Before you analyze whether it’s possible, pause. What changed?
Maybe your shoulders tightened. Maybe your stomach dropped. Maybe your brain immediately offered a dozen reasons to choose a smaller number.
None of that means you’re doing goal setting wrong. Your reaction may be connected to old lessons about safety, success, responsibility, or what people like you are allowed to earn.
The goal isn’t to ignore that response or push through it while your whole body stays braced. It’s to notice what’s happening, understand it, and learn how to stay grounded without automatically shrinking what you want.
That’s the work Monica Bozinov will guide you through in The Outrageous Money Goal Workshop on October 1 at 1 p.m. Eastern.
You’ll explore the beliefs behind your reaction and leave with a money goal you actually chose.
If this exercise brought something up for you, I’ll share the free registration link in the comments.
A reactive money month has a sound. It is the late-night check of the bank account. The mental math while you are trying to fall asleep. The little spike of guilt when you avoid opening anything at all.
A rhythmic month feels different.
Revenue comes in, and it does not sit in one big pile hoping you remember what to do with it. It gets a job right away.
Owner pay moves on a schedule. The 1st. The 15th. Not whenever there happens to be something left.
The tax account grows a little at a time, so quarter-end is not a surprise.
Once a week, there is a 10-minute money date. Not a crisis meeting. Just a look at the accounts so you know where you stand.
And at the end of the month, you have a clear picture. No scrambling. No reconstructing the story from memory.
This rhythm does not mean you suddenly have more money. It means you know where the money is, at any given moment.
That is what replaces the anxiety check. The mental math. The avoidance.
Predictability is not a luxury. It is what a system creates.
What would change for you if you had this rhythm? Tell me below.

Have you ever set a financial goal that felt exciting, then quietly started negotiating it down?
Maybe you told yourself to be realistic.
Maybe the number suddenly felt irresponsible, impossible, or like something you had no business saying out loud.
That doesn’t mean you aren’t ambitious enough. It doesn’t mean you need more discipline or another pep talk about thinking bigger.
Sometimes, the number gets big and your body flinches before your brain has time to explain why.
Your chest tightens. Your stomach turns. Your thoughts start listing all the reasons it won’t work.
I’ve learned that those reactions are worth noticing, not judging. They can reveal old beliefs about safety, success, belonging, and what you’re allowed to want.
What if you didn’t have to ignore that reaction or shrink your goal to make it disappear?
That’s the conversation behind **The Outrageous Money Goal Workshop**, a free live workshop with Monica Bozinov on October 1 at 1 p.m. Eastern.
Monica will help you explore what happens when a money goal feels big and how to stay grounded while pursuing it.
If this has you thinking about a number you’ve quietly talked yourself out of, I’ll share the workshop link in the comments.

It's a new season over here, in the most ordinary way.
The trailer is parked. The kids are back in a school-year rhythm. The garden is doing that late-summer thing where it still looks alive, but you can feel it winding down.
My business feels like that too. Not a launch season. Not a scramble season. A keep-showing-up season. Keep the system running. Pay attention.
What this season is asking of me is slower than I used to think I was allowed to go. Less proving. More presence. I have had to let go of the idea that every month needs a big moment to count.
What it's giving me is a quieter kind of clarity. I can see what actually matters when the calendar is not full of urgency. A walk. A plant doing better than I expected. A conversation with my kids that is not squeezed in between meetings.
I could not have learned this in a different season. The busy ones taught me how to build. This one is teaching me how to stay.
I do not know yet what this season is building toward. I am paying attention anyway.
What season are you in right now? I'd love to hear how you'd describe it.
Every “no” gets you one step closer to the right “yes.” And if you build your expectations around getting yeses, every rejection will feel like a setback.
Don’t be afraid of the no. Eliminate it, learn from it, and keep moving toward your yes. 💪
