Our mission is to help children develop a positive self image through the improvement of the critical learning skills necessary to be successful learners.
Every child is different. Their right to learn is the same. FWCL works with students who are challenged academically. Many of our students have processing-based difficulties. We work one-on-one and intensively with our students to remediate the challenges that prevent them from being successful in school. Our goal is that our students can take the strategies discovered at FWCL and apply them in their classrooms where they can begin to learn independently. We support them on every step of the journey to academic success.

Meet Cindy!
Cindy joined the FWCL staff in 2026. She has a BS in Computer Science and an MS in Management. She has retired from a long career in IT and always found satisfaction helping people find better ways to accomplish their goals.
She has five granddaughters who provide much joy. She stays busy with the gym, gardening, traveling, dancing to local bands and appearing in community theater productions.

Meet Celeste!
Celeste began working as an instructor at FWCL in December 2025. She graduated from the University of Saint Francis with a Bachelor's in English. Her hobbies are writing and practicing martial arts. Her favorite thing about working at the Fort Wayne Center for Learning is introducing kids to great books as they discover the joy of reading.

Meet Jennifer!
Jennifer has been with the FWCL since May of 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of New Hampshire.
Jennifer has participated in workshops and conferences about youth development presented by Great Kids Make Great Communities, Indiana Youth Institute, and Junior League. She finds Conscious Discipline and being Trauma Informed critical to understanding today’s youth and giving them the tools they will need for future success.

Meet Lizzie!
Lizzie graduated from Wartburg College in May 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication and a minor in Business. She is passionate about storytelling, creativity, and finding meaningful ways to make an impact in her community. Lizzie is excited to begin her career as the Marketing and Operations Coordinator at FWCL and contribute to its mission.
Lizzie enjoys singing, taking walks with her dog, Oakley, and traveling. She has visited three continents, 11 countries, and 30 states, and she hopes to continue exploring new places and experiencing different cultures.
