St. Jude Church hosted a "Make a Blanket" Day as a Lenten Service Project. They donated money for fleece, our PL Chapter prepped, and we worked together to complete a large number of blankets to help fill our empty shelves.

Project Linus is 30 years old, celebrating this anniversary on December 24th. Over 10 million blankets have been handmade and delivered to children needing comfort due to illness, injuries or life circumstances.

Our local chapter, Fort Wayne/NE Indiana, will be 22 years old in April. We were able to make huge donations recently (with the help of faithful volunteers) including Adoption Day at the Allen County Courthouse, The Angel Tree program at the Salvation Army and all our hospitals got blankets for kids in the hospital. It has been amazing and very busy!

Our chapter meets every Thursday at The Salvation Army 2901 N. Clinton Fort wayne, IN from 9-2 unless we have severe weather conditions or on holidays when The Salvation Army is closed. Come and check out what we do!

Today is Season of Giving, Giving Tuesday, an opportunity for non-profits to raise money for their mission. My mission is Project Linus. We provide blankets to comfort children who are ill, hurt, needing warmth or encouragement when life is very difficult. We will be accepting donations all month. Donations also welcomed all year!

The Fort Wayne/Northeast Indiana chapter is over 21 years old and we have distributed over 66,000 blankets to children in need. This year we are at a record breaking number of blankets that have been handmade, inspected, and delivered in NE Indiana.

Today we celebrated Adoption Day at the Allen County courthouse in Fort Wayne IN. We gave over 100 blankets to children being adopted today and their siblings in the home. This is a day that we look forward to annually. What a happy day for the families, the employees of the court and for Project Linus volunteers!

The theme this year was "As sweet as it can be". The decorations were like the Candyland game.
We enjoyed being dressed in our candy print aprons.
