Facebook Post: Shark Robot Vacuum Camera Vulnerability
Your robot vacuum might be the least secure camera in your house. 📹

A security researcher just showed that Shark robot vacuums connect to the cloud with a digital certificate that was never locked to the individual vacuum. Pull the certificate from ONE vacuum (a screwdriver is all it takes), and the cloud accepts it as valid for ANY vacuum in your region.

What that unlocks is not small:

🔓 The live camera feed on other people's vacuums
🗺️ The saved maps of their homes
📶 Their home Wi-Fi password
(stored in plain text on the device🙄)

Here's the part that should really bother you: the researcher reported it privately on March 1st. SharkNinja acknowledged it, went quiet, blew past the standard 90-day disclosure window, promised a fix date... and never delivered. He went public in mid-July, over four months later.

The lesson isn't "never buy smart devices." It's this: any gadget with a camera or microphone is a computer in your home, and the company behind it may not be watching the door.

Three things worth doing today:
✅ Put smart home gadgets on a separate/guest Wi-Fi network ✅ Cover or disable cameras on devices that don't need them
✅ Before buying, search "[brand] + security vulnerability" and see how the company responded

Save this post for the next time someone in your family wants to buy a camera-equipped gadget.

What's the one smart device in your house you'd be most creeped out to learn someone else could access?

🛡️ Is Your Business Keeping Up with 2026’s Cyber Threats?

Hey everyone! Let’s chat about the latest in cybersecurity and what it means for your business. The landscape is shifting fast, and staying informed is your best defense.

🤖 The Rise of "Agentic" AI
AI assistants are getting smarter—accessing your files and accounts to boost productivity. But here’s the catch: giving an AI access to your company data is like giving a new employee the keys to everything. 🔑

The Risk: It blurs the line between a helpful tool and a security vulnerability.
The Fix: It’s vital to manage exactly what these "digital employees" can see and do.

🎣 Sophisticated Phishing 2.0
Phishing scams are trickier than ever, using AI to bypass filters and mimic real people perfectly.

Big News: In Europe, there is a major push for banks to immediately refund victims of unauthorized transactions—even if they accidentally clicked a bad link! 🏦

The Takeaway: This highlights just how convincing these scams have become. If even the banks are being forced to step up, we all need to stay sharp.

💡 Pro Tip: Your #1 Defense
Keeping your business safe doesn't have to be overwhelming. If you do one thing TODAY, let it be this:
Turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) everywhere. 📱

Think of it as adding a deadbolt to your digital doors. Even if a hacker steals your password, they still can't get past that second lock on your phone.

Navigating the ever-changing world of cybersecurity can be tough, but you don’t have to do it alone. Pro Tech Guy is here to keep your business secure and running smoothly.
