I almost didn’t have a party this year. 41 felt frivolous to celebrate. But this year was filled with chaos and uncertainty. I realized that nothing is promised, especially time. Celebrate the now. Take in the good times. Pause for them. Soak them in. Create them. I decided on a ‘ ‘Autumn Harvest Party’. The autumn harvest has been celebrated for millennia as a period of gratitude for nature’s bounty and a time of communal celebration.
The harvest has always been more than just a time to gather crops; it represents balance, gratitude, and preparation for the future, and what lies ahead. We dressed in American country western and drank spiked apple cider. There’s a lot of wild stuff happening in the world right now. I was reminded this year to not take life too seriously, none of us are getting out of here alive, be a good person, dream, hope, make the good days count, and have some fun. I had my aura photographed today, here’s what it looks like.

Time slowed at the beach. Summer days melted slowly into the salty ocean waves. We floated in the emerald green water, sipping tequila on the crystal coast that was once the playground of pirates. Chris Isaak’s baja sessions played under orange streaked southern skies. Summer is meant to be enjoyed slowly.

calm, cool, collected, a rock, a gentleman, and a scholar. Always curious, always wanting to do the right thing without need or wanting credit. always challenging others around you to do the right thing. Open minded, always sticking up for the little man and those with less than.

When I think of you a story that comes to mind is us walking down the street in DC one night and you noticed a blind man attempting to cross the street. You changed directions, ran up to the blind man and offered to help him cross the busy street, stopping traffic and walking arm in arm with him to ensure he made it safely. He thanked you and we returned towards home. You never mentioned this small act of kindness to anyone. You didn’t need people to know that you’re a good person. But im sure he remembers, and I do too. You go out of your way to help random people and expect nothing in return.

Happy birthday to my partner Frank. A good person, solid to your core. The real deal.

2024 was the year that I turned 40. The year that the pentagon confirmed the existence of UFOs and no one seemed to bat an eye. The year that everything seemed so wild that nothing surprised us anymore. The year that I rejoined the gym, and took up the rowing machine and the sauna. The year that I started eating organic (as much as possible). The year that I started to turn grey and the lines on my face deepened. The year that I started to watch NDRs. I still stay up late and run off of little sleep. I still drink and eat too much and have way too much fun. I still try to live every month like it’s my last. I still try to think positively and watch my words. Im still planning for the next great adventure and can’t wait to see what next year brings. All good things I hope. And I ll roll with everything that comes my way. Thanks for being a part of my year. Cheers 🥂

2024 was a time of rebuilding. Of embracing new chapters, appreciating what I have, and enjoying the simple life.

happy birthday to my baby sister who is no longer a baby and is raising and growing babies of her own. This past September was one of my favorite months of my life having you and the girls be in Maryland for the month and being able to go to the beach and to the mountains for my birthday. You are such a light and are raising your daughters to be good humans. Im so excited for this next chapter in your life in Japan and to see what this next baby brings. Cheers to you this year and many more 🫧🤍
