Hispanic Heritage Month starts today. Three of our programs were already named in Spanish.
Si Se Puede. Unidos Por Salud. Compromiso Adelante.
Not translated after the fact. Named that way from the start, because Tulare County is 67 percent Latino, Parlier is 97, and a program that shows up in a language you had to learn is asking for something before it offers anything.
Thirty days of this month left. We plan to spend them the way we spend the other 335.
Grandma. Abuela. Nana. Grandpa. Halmoni. Big Mama. Abuelo. Lola. Pog. Tata. Bà Ngoại. Mema. Ye Ye. Granddaddy.
14 names. All the same role.
You keep everybody fed. You show up. Some of you are raising grandkids right now and don't complain.
Thank you for the rides, the plates you fixed, the second chances, all of it.
To our favorite storytellers, secret-keepers, and cheerleaders 🤎
Happy Grandparents Day.

The fields got picked before most people were awake.
Somebody's been on their feet in a San Bernardino warehouse since four. Somebody bathed and dressed a stranger's grandmother this morning and will do it again tomorrow.
From Del Norte down to the Inland Empire, a lot of you are working today.
We spend the rest of the year on the health of people who rarely get a day off.
Today, just this: thank you.
Happy Labor Day. Rest when you can.

We're the most connected generation in history and one of the loneliest.
Someone in your phone right now would love to hear from you. Not the group chat. Just them.
Call. Send a voice note. Meet for coffee. Send them the meme with "this reminded me of you."
Real connection is small on purpose. Save this for the person you're going to reach out to today. 💛

The most important members of our team rarely sit behind a desk.
Community health workers, promotoras, and care navigators are the reason our programs actually reach the communities they were built for. They speak the language. They live in the neighborhood. They hold the kind of trust no institution can manufacture.
For over 40 years, this has been the California Health Collaborative approach: care that comes to the person, delivered by people who understand the community from the inside.
Grateful for every team member showing up in California communities today.

Friendly reminder from your friends at CHC: you're probably dehydrated right now.
Yeah, you. The one who's had three coffees and no water since this morning.
California summer does not play, especially inland where it hits triple digits and stays there. Your body needs more than you think.
Go drink some water. Refill the bottle. Text somebody you love and tell them to do the same. 💧

Aging in California is not one conversation.
For some families it is housing. For others, food security or medication access. For many, it is the quiet reality that the family caregiver was never trained for the job they now hold.
California Health Collaborative's Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP) supports older adults and their families with care coordination and in-home support, so people can keep living in the homes and communities they built.
Thank you to the partners and funders who make this work possible. ❤️

What if the difference between a healthy pregnancy and a hard one was somebody who showed up?
Not a doctor. Not a nurse. A person.
That's the work of CHC's Black Infant Health program in San Bernardino, and our Regional Perinatal Programs across California. Real support for real families, from pregnancy through the first year.
Because how you enter the world matters. 🌱
The older adults in your life may not tell you when they're struggling with the heat. Some are rationing the AC. Some don't feel thirsty even when they're dehydrated.
A quick check-in can catch problems before they become emergencies. Save this. Share it. Then go check on someone this weekend. 💜

For a lot of kids in Kings County, the beach might as well be another country.
Two hours by car. Zero hours if your family doesn't have gas money or a car that will make it.
CHC's Kings Coastal Experiences for Youth (KCEY) program closes that gap. Kings County youth get to the water, get outside, and get to experience a part of California that should belong to every kid who lives here.
Because California is theirs too. 🌊
