On Ramps Covenant Church
1955 Broadway St. in Downtown Fresno
Bible Study - Tuesday Nights a 6pm \\ Worship Gatherings - Saturday Nights at 6pm At On Ramps we embrace tension.
On Ramps Covenant Church is a multi-ethnic, multi-class, multi-cultural, multi-generational church that is pursuing reconciliation. Where other churches divide, we lean in. We are a tongue-speaking, book of common prayer-reading, gospel-singing, lectio divina-participating, flip flop-wearing, stained glass-displaying, miracles-believing church. We believe all of this is from God. Therefore, we create room for it all and trust the Holy Spirit to make it all work. On Ramps is intentional about living out the mission of the church as a faith community that "gathers" and "scatters." We believe that while gathering is a pretty natural function of the 21st Century American Church, scattering is not. Therefore, On Ramps has initiated Street Parishes in our neighborhood to help people go deeper in Christ and further in mission while concentrating on specific streets and being "first responders" there.

What a powerful night as we came to the alter surrendering all, withholding nothing, confessing, and being invited to forgive š
Amos thank you for your vulnerability tonight, reflecting on a hard season in your life when it seemed like the waves were overcoming you and how you found your way through by writing. Tonight Amos shared one of his many poems he wrote in 2020 and this one was centered on forgiveness.
It was with great joy but also a heavy heart, to be in the room with the writer as he unpacked his poem but also invited us to reflect and write our own. When Amos used the imagery of water he said āforgiveness isnāt a transaction. Itās a flow, from your heart to others. Shalom is the same way. Shalom isnāt transactional, itās a beautiful movement just like streams of water.ā We learned that the Greek word for forgiveness is defined as releasing, to let go, to send away any debt towards my accusers.
As always we invite you to join us every week at 6pm as we continue to dive deeper into Shalom.
For now, let us remember the words Amos shared with us tonight. Breathe. Just breathe. Have a good night family, you are deeply loved.

Thereās room for you here.
Come as you are. Come bring your story. Come find community.
Come share life with us. š¤

Can we be honest and say last weeks message is still pressed on our hearts and we are STILL unpacking all that Dr. Randy White laid out for us š„¹
From discussing enemies in scripture to hearing stories of sworn enemies from WWII, a Rwandan genocide survivor starting a charity with the man who was her enemy, to us reflecting in our own lives who is our enemy and that not being the end of the story. Why is it so hard for us to forgive much lesser hurts and pain and for us to love people who are hard to love. We should take after Jesus and know that itās in our best interest to try.
Randy walked us through Matthew chapter 5 and stopping at the word perfect, instead of pushing past it Randy addressed it and taught us the word perfect in Greek means telios and tethered that to shalom. Telios means the state of wholeness, to join or bind together. When we are called to be perfect we are being called to seek harmony, to mend broken relationships, or a fractured society into a unified whole, to be impartial, to love the good and bad alike. And check this! Shalom means wholeness, unbroken, a life reflective of the perfect God! So perfection in this passage isnāt a call to achieve absolute absence of sin, but simply to follow the description of God from the text, demonstrating a commitment to the kind of impartiality that God demonstrates. Making it plainā¦.equal love for Saint and sinner, friend and enemy alike.
Woooooo Randy that was good! Please everyone stay tuned to our YouTube channel as you will want to go back and hear the entire message. š¤ we look forward to seeing you this Saturday at 6pm as we continue on in our theme of Shalom with the focus of Shalom With One Another

This season, our students are learning to cultivate WONDER āØš±
Have you ever slowed down and noticed the flowers growing in our planter boxes? Or what about the stars filling the night sky. The sound of the wind. Even the stubborn little dandelion pushing its way through a crack in the sidewalk.
Well research has shown that experiencing awe can contribute to greater well-being. When we encounter something bigger than ourselves, our perspective begins to shift. The things that feel enormous can suddenly become a little smaller.
But weāre inviting our students to take it one step further.
What if the things that fill us with awe also turn our attention toward the One who made them?
Psalm 8:3 says, āWhen I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers-the moon and the stars you set in placeā
Thatās what weāre cultivating through this season of Wonder. Children who LOOK. Children who NOTICE. Children who ASK QUESTIONS. Children who are learning to move through Godās world with their eyes and hearts wide open.
Because sometimes encountering the wonder of God begins with something as ordinary as stopping to notice a dandelion. š¼
May we never become too hurried to wonder āØ

We raise a hallelujah for prayers answered and prayers that carried us. For every person who has called this community home. Through every season God has been with us, so after 15 years, we still have a reason to lift our hands, lift our voices, and raise a hallelujah!
