Worship is an outward expression coming from the overflow of the heart. At Providence, our services are times of intentional celebration and remembrance of what Jesus has done for us. Through the songs we sing, we express what we believe about God and confess our need for him.
Here’s our set list for the weekend:
Nothing But The Blood
Psalm 34 (Taste And See)
Holy Holy Holy (We Bow Before Thee)
In Christ Alone
Join us tomorrow morning at 8:00, 9:30, or 11:00 am.

Knowing what truly matters is important, but biblical knowledge should always lead us to love one another well. Paul reminds us that even when we are right, exercising our freedom without considering how it affects a brother or sister can cause harm rather than build them up. Spiritual maturity isn’t simply measured by how much we know, but by how that truth shapes the way we care for others. If our knowledge doesn’t lead to love, we’ve missed the point.

The Providence Women’s Conference is coming up October 16–17, and women of all ages are invited to gather for a meaningful weekend of worship, fellowship, and growing together in Christ. Guest speaker Jodi Ware from Louisville, Kentucky, will lead the main sessions as she explores what it looks like for sisters in Christ to walk the road to heaven together through discipleship, along with breakout sessions led by women from Providence. This will be a special opportunity to deepen friendships, build new relationships, and encourage one another as women pursuing Christ together. Registration closes this Friday, so don’t wait—register today, reach out to a friend, and make plans to experience the weekend together. There’s still a place for you, and the Providence Women’s team would love to have you there!

What we believe shapes how we live. False teaching can lead us into endless speculation, but sound doctrine should produce something very different: love. When we root our hope in God rather than the temporary things of this world, His truth transforms our hearts and how we love those around us. Good theology doesn’t simply fill our minds; it changes our lives.

This week’s passage: 1 Timothy 1:3-11
Here are some discussion questions to continue your worship throughout the week:
1. Why is sound doctrine important for our lives? How does it affect our discipleship?
2. What specific dangers did Paul warn Timothy about? What were these “different doctrines” producing in the church?
3. What false teachings are a threat to us today?
4. How does a deep understanding of the gospel counter false teaching?
5. What does Paul say the goal is of being rooted in the gospel? What fruit does it produce in our lives?
6. What kinds of teachings in our culture might lead to speculation and vain discussions among Christians? Why are they unhealthy and dangerous?
7. How does God’s law relate to the gospel?
8. Articulate in your own words your understanding of the gospel.
9. Are there any ways in which you have been susceptible to wandering from the gospel?

Sermon Text: 1 Timothy 1:3-11
In 1 Timothy 1:3–11, Paul urges Timothy to guard the church against false teaching and distractions that pull people away from the truth of God’s Word. He reminds us that the goal of sound doctrine is not simply greater knowledge, but love that flows from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith. God’s law helps us recognize the seriousness of sin and our need for His grace rather than becoming a source of empty arguments or speculation. Ultimately, faithful teaching should always lead us back to the glorious Gospel that God has entrusted to His people.
Join us tomorrow at 8:00, 9:30, or 11:00 am.

Come Thou Fount
How Great Thou Art
Build My Life
Throughout Scripture, the temple represented God dwelling among His people, but Jesus came as the true and better Temple—God Himself dwelling with us. And now, as believers united to Christ, we are His body, the church, the temple of the living God. What an incredible privilege to be a people among whom God dwells and through whom His presence is made known.
