This summer was filled with moments that remind us why we do what we do. ❤️

🏀 Hoops & Dreams brought together 35 middle in high school students for an evening of basketball, mentorship, and community alongside University of Florida football players.

One student, Michael, almost didn’t attend because of neighborhood tensions. By the end of the night, he found friendship, encouragement, in a place where he belonged. A few weeks later, he returned—not as a participant, but as a volunteer serving others.

💛 Our Girls Mentorship Program took on a grocery challenge where they learned how to budget, shop for nutritious meals, and make thoughtful financial decisions with just $10. Afterward, they donated their groceries to individuals experiencing homelessness, turning a life skills lesson into an opportunity to serve their community.

🎤 Beyond Gainesville, our founder, Joel Romelus, had the opportunity to share God’s Word with hundreds of college student-athletes at the Ultimate Training Camp at the University of Colorado. It was an incredible week of discipleship, leadership, and seeing young men and women respond to Christ with a renewed purpose.

As we celebrate five years of Made For More, we’re grateful for every mentor, volunteer, donor, and partner who has made these moments possible.

Thank you for helping us invest in the next generation — one relationship, one conversation, one life at a time.

This summer, 40 University of Florida student-athletes traveled with Made For More to the Dominican Republic in partnership with the Word of Life Camp and Filters of Hope. 🇩🇴❤️

Together, we distributed clean drinking water, shared the Gospel with hundreds of families, and hosted sports camps for children across local communities.

But one of the most powerful moments happened on our final night.

As we gathered around a beach bonfire with the sound of waves behind us, we were reminded that worship isn’t always expressed through a song. Sometimes it’s found in stillness, reflection, and complete surrender.

That evening, several student-athletes responded to God‘s call with the simple prayer: “Here I am. Send me.” 🤍

These are moments that remind us the mission doesn’t end when the trip is over—it continues wherever God leads us next.

Thank you to every athlete, partner, donor, and volunteer who made this trip possible. Your support is helping transform lives across the world and here at home. ✝️

When I was surprised with this award, the first person I thought of was Evit Allen, the mentor who poured into me long before there was ever a stage or spotlight. His steady presence. His consistency. His belief in me.

What he planted years ago created a ripple effect that is still unfolding today.

But this recognition is not ultimately about one individual. It is about the power of love to yield a harvest that stretches beyond our lifetime.

Because both love and evil produce a harvest. One yields bitterness and destruction. The other produces peace, healing, and restoration.

In John 13, Jesus kneels and washes His disciples’ feet, radical love expressed through humble service.

And He tells them,
“You do not realize what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

That is the power of mentorship.
The power of humble, consistent service.

The young people we serve may not fully see the sacrifice behind what happens each week.
They don’t see the long days.
The emotional energy.
The generosity of donors who choose to invest in their growth and future.

They may not understand it now.
But one day, they will.

As a community, we get to choose what we plant. We can sow seeds that interrupt destructive cycles, restore hope, and cultivate leaders who give back what was once given to them.
This recognition reflects a collective harvest.

As John Wesley once said,
“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can.”

That is how we keep planting.
That is how the harvest continues.
So let’s keep serving.

Let’s keep sowing.
Let’s keep doing all the good we can.
