August's Kid Librarian did an amazing job selecting items for the display case that remind her of her favorite books! This month's kid librarian is off to second grade shortly, and she recommends the Critter Club series by Callie Barkley, the Princess in Black series by Shannon Hale, and Cat and Cat Adventures by Susie Yi.

Come in to the library to check out her display up close and see if you like her favorites too! We will be drawing a name for September's display in mid-August, so be sure to get your name in the jar!

Did anyone guess Manga? This year's 2026 Texas Book Festival Collection Enhancement Grant is going to add new additions to our juvenile Manga and graphic novel collection.

Did you know 4-h was originally two separate clubs? One for girls, which focused on homemaking, and one for boys, which focused on agriculture. It wasn't until the 1960's that they were joined into one club.

A sweet story about friendship is now up at Kiwanis Park! We're hoping the rich fall colors in the book are reflected in real life sooner rather than later. Happy smiles all around from this sweet library kid! She won this grand prize from attending Literary Lego sessions over the summer. Closing out another fantastic summer feels good and we can't wait to see everyone at the fun programs we're planning for the fall!

Two of our wonderful library kids each won a Kindle Fire just by using their library cards this summer! We are so proud of these amazing readers and hope they read so many books with their new Kindles.
