Let’s give a big welcome to our summer intern, Caleb Rojas! Caleb recently graduated from the University of Florida with his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. His excitement to learn about building systems engineering is contagious and we are lucky to have him on the team. Not only was the UF Basic Science Building 1st Floor Renovation project certified as the University of Florida's first LEEDv4 Commercial Interiors project, this project also won the 2023 U.S. Green Building Council Florida People's Choice Award! Congratulations to the University of Florida for being awarded the first ever Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES) Gold Level certification in the State of Florida! UF-656 Newell Gateway and NE Gateway projects recently received this Gold Level certification, and we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of the team. SITES is the Green Business Certification Inc’s comprehensive rating system for developing sustainable landscapes. This program is based on the understanding that land is a crucial component of the built environment and can be planned, designed, developed, and maintained to avoid, mitigate, and even reverse these detrimental impacts.

Special shoutout to the new UF Florida Museum of Natural History Special Collections Building on being awarded the highest sustainable building certification level through the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC)! Platinum level is a very rare achievement, and we are proud to have been involved as this project’s commissioning agent. This new state-of-the-art facility passed rigorous inspections including UF’s first commercial blower door test, indoor air quality testing, and Florida Water Star certification. Andy has been a Sr. Electrical Engineer with Mitchell Gulledge Engineering since 2017 and we are thrilled to have him on our leadership team now as a Principal Engineer. Andy has more than 15 years of electrical engineering experience with an emphasis in educational, commercial, and laboratory system design. His technical competencies, strategic thinking, and ethical leadership are qualities that Andy possesses and that we deeply value here at Mitchell Gulledge Engineering. New employee announcement! Mitchell Gulledge Engineering is proud to announce Kimberly Leino as the newest member of the MG team! Kim has over 17 years of industry experience specializing in electrical system design for sophisticated institutional facilities. Kim’s experience, technical acuity, and attention to detail has truly differentiated her in her field. After graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida, Kim became a certified E.I. through the Florida Board of Professional Engineers. Her specializations include lighting, power distribution, telecommunications, fire alarm, security, access control, intercom systems, CCTV, and nurse call system design. Check out the construction progress on the new Undergraduate Residential Complex for the University of Florida! Coming Fall of 2023, this new 428,000 SF residential complex will offer rich opportunities and serve as a hub for campus life. We are excited for the 1,400+ new residents who will occupy these buildings next fall. Special shout-out to The Weitz Company who is pushing hard on a rigorous construction schedule.
