Nothing like a 100% pass rate after a week of confined space. Shoutout to the instructors, Lt. Jason Deaton, Lt. Tommy Nail, Lt. Robby Mathis, Lt. Cal Waldorf, FAO Patrick Zaledzieski, and FF Samuel Tapia for stepping up and sharing their knowledge.

The students learned how to mitigate emergencies inside of confined spaces. This included air monitoring, ventilation, patient packaging, and victim removal while managing umbilical lines. And thank you to HCSO for sharing a deputy to be our live victim. Great job guys!

NEWS RELEASE:
C-Shift caught a fire at approximately 8:10 p.m last night. Personnel was dispatched to Quailwood Drive for reports of a residential fire. First arriving units discovered heavy fire contained to the garage. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the flames and prevent further extension to the rest of the structure.

Smoke was ventilated thoroughly from the residence. The primary search was all clear and no one was injured on scene. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Today, we remember September 11, 2001 and the nearly 3,000 lives taken too soon. We honor the sacrifice, courage, and selflessness shown by first responders who ran into the towers knowing they would not run out.

We also remember the recruit class that began their career at Hall County Fire just one day prior. 9/11 only further encouraged them to choose a career of service and sacrifice. They, and many other recruits in the years to follow, answered a calling to protect others and carry forward the legacy of the 343 firefighters who gave everything.

Never forget.

At approximately 3:30 pm, yesterday, Hall County Fire Rescue responded to Belton Bridge Road in Lula, for reports of a residential fire. Station 6 arrived on scene in under six minutes and discovered a single wide mobile home with heavy fire covering about 50 percent of the structure.

Crews worked quickly and were able to extinguish the bulk of the fire before it extended to the rest of the residence. The primary search was all clear and no personnel were injured on scene. The American Red Cross was notified for two displaced adult occupants. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Our Fire Marshal’s Office had the recruits for a whole day to teach them about how they operate. This includes fire investigations, inspections, community outreach, plans review, and fire prevention. They utilized furniture to display fire behavior and pattern analysis. Then Apollo was brought in to show off his skills as our Arson Detection K9!

Congratulations to the 21 new paramedics that just graduated from Lanier Technical College and Gwinnett Technical College! We are excited for them to enter shift with their new skill sets and knowledge. They have put in the work and countless hours to get this title.

Lieutenant Jeff Suggs retired from the Fire Marshal’s Office after serving for 24 years with Hall County Fire! Lt. Suggs is a hard worker, a calm presence on any emergency and he will be truly missed. Thank you for dedicating your time, career and life to serving your community, happy retirement!
