Squad 7A and Engine 9A were called out during the storm yesterday evening to save an injured black lab who was trapped in a ravine. The dog was carried out of the woods and back to safety where it was later taken to the vet and cared for. Great job, guys!

Congratulations to HCFR’s two newest Training Lieutenants! Lt. Zac Hogan and Lt. Katie Ranalli were both promoted today alongside their loved ones. We are excited for the wealth of knowledge they will provide to operations and our recruit classes. Great job and congrats to both of you!

Our hearts are heavy for our brothers and sisters, at Rockdale Fire, as we all mourn the tragic loss of one of their firefighters. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and crew during this incredibly difficult time. Rest easy, brother.

Yesterday was a blast hosting the campers of the 2026 HCSO Advance Camp! They rotated through multiple stations covering fire safety tips while also having some fun. Thank you to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office for inviting us to be a part of this event!

After a long eight days, the students completed the ERDI course. This is an extensive class that covers victim removal, search patterns, surface rescue, scenario based training, and drowning response. Great job to the students and a huge thank you to all of the instructors from Hall County Fire and Hall County Sheriff’s Office!

It is not every day we respond to a train derailment, but May had other plans. Great job to the C-Shift crews that responded to this mess last month!

It was an honor to be a part of the Memorial Day vigil and parade to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. Thank you to everyone who came out to show your support!

High lines, pick offs, litter tending, rigging, and operations of advanced rope systems were all tackled during the 40-hour Rope Tech course. It isn’t often that our TRT team has to use these skills, but they are always prepared to do so. Great job to the students last week, as well as the instructors for ensuring they absorb every detail.

Thank you to the Atlanta Falcons for hosting our first responders at the first OTA of the season! This was a huge honor to be a part of and the players could not have been more welcoming. We are so glad we can serve the Falcons community just a mile down the road from Station 5!
