Sweet July Design
We are floral design specializing in weddings and events. We'd love to get together to turn your flower dreams into a reality.
When I'm designing a bouquet, I like to keep in mind that it doesn't just show up for the portraits.
It's there for the first look, the vows, the hand squeeze walking down the aisle, the quiet seconds after you say "I do." Every moment that matters, it's right there with you.
That's part of why I love this work so much- designing something that gets to be present for it all, not just posed with for a few minutes.
What moment do you hope your bouquet is a part of on your wedding day?

Some couples walk in with a Pinterest board. Some walk in with a color. One of my favorites walked in with a whole world.
That's usually where the good ones start- not a folder of other people's weddings, but something that isn't a flower at all.
A book. A song you've had stuck in your head for a decade. The porch you grew up on. A specific kind of light in a specific kind of forest. Give me that, and I can build a design out of it every time.
Case in point: this couple who wanted their wedding to feel like The Shire. Not costumes, not a theme park... a feeling.
Moss and ferns going a little rogue, texture you wanted to reach out and touch, stems chosen specifically to feel like them.
Your wedding design is- and should be- personal. It's rarely just a flower you love... it should be about everything that defines you as a couple and your life together.
What do you feel like is an unexpected thing that could shape a design decision for you, florals or otherwise?

Exciting personal update, friends 🌿
My family and I are taking a sabbatical of sorts... about 10 months on the road together.
We're starting with a US road trip, then heading across the world to East Africa, and finishing up around the Mediterranean. Learning together, adventuring together, making all the memories.
I'm taking a brief hiatus from booking (but if you're dreaming of a destination wedding in the Mediterranean this spring, let's chat!), but I'll be opening the books again in spring 2027 for Fall 2027/Spring 2028 weddings.
I can't wait to see how this trip shapes my eye for color and design, and I already can't wait to be back working alongside this vendor community I love so much.
I'll be sharing photo dumps and flowers I find along the way, so be sure to stick around! 🌍
Oh, and send us all your well wishes for homeschooling a 6th and 2nd grader!

Before there was a single flower, there was a story: a couple who wanted their wedding to feel like the Hobbits' birthday party from Lord of the Rings, hosted at the bride's parents' home, surrounded by family who'd clearly poured everything into the space.
So the design had to match the people, not just the aesthetic. Earthy pink, lilac, light blue, and sage because that's what already lived in the rest of their decor. Sparkly textures because they asked for a little magic. A ceremony under the oaks because the place itself — palmettos, dappled light, all of it — was the point, not a backdrop to compete with.
Standing at that ceremony site, I didn't want it to look like flowers had been brought in. I wanted it to look like they'd always been growing there — wildflowers pushing up through the forest floor, like the woods had decided to bloom just for the occasion.
This is what "whimsical and meaningful" looks like when you actually build it around two specific people instead of a passing trend.
→ What's a detail from your own story that shaped a design choice, big or small?

Vows said with water behind you. We kept this ceremony design soft and light- ivory, earthy pinks, just enough peach to catch the light, with trailing greenery doing most of the talking against that wooden frame.
When designing we are always aware of the space where the arrangement will be. Some ceremony spaces ask for more or less. But we never want to compete with a view like the one at . We add and augment what is already lovely about the space you've chosen!

Psst, your palette doesn't have to be only two colors. It doesn't have to be "neutral with a pop." It doesn't have to make sense to anyone but you.
Your wedding design is personal. And when I sit down with a couple, I'm not pulling from a trend board- I'm pulling from them. The way they describe their living room. The trip that changed everything. The feeling they want when they walk into their event space.
Sometimes that means three colors. Sometimes six. Sometimes a palette that shouldn't work on paper absolutely does when you put a garden rose next to a ranunculus, and then next to something you've never seen at a wedding before.
So if you've been told to simplify your vision... I want you to know: you don't have to. Bring me all of it. I'll make it cohesive. I'll make it beautiful. I'll make it undeniably, unapologetically you. I love finding the through lines and weaving them into flowers.

Ceremony flowers might be my favorite thing to design.
It's the backdrop for the moment everything changes. The first thing guests see. The thing you'll look at in photos for the rest of your life. And every single one I've ever made has looked completely different- because every couple is completely different.
A lush green arch accented with white roses. Colorful floral columns bursting with peach and coral and yellow. Potted arrangements gathered lakeside like a garden you just wandered into. Deep red and burgundy blooms laid at the base of a centuries-old tree. Driftwood and blue hydrangea kissed by the water.
Same designer... completely different looks.
That's what I love most about this work- I'm not replicating a look I've done before. I'm listening to you. To what you love, what makes you feel at home, what you want to walk toward when it's time.
Your ceremony backdrop should feel like yours. Let's make it that way.

Instant mood boost = when the stems bounce juuuuust right. 🥰
That little movement. How the entire bouquet delicately sways. I will never get over it. It's a florist joy that lives in my chest forever.
Fellow florists: you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Brides: when you're holding your bouquet, give it a little bounce. That's your floral designer saying hi. 👋🌸
Flower friends: what's your version of the bouquet bounce?

Sometimes the most beautiful tablescapes are about intentional placement and letting each element breathe.
For this Central Florida wedding, we did three styles of centerpieces: mix of bud vases, ikebana-inspired centerpieces, and a larger compote style centerpieces.
Thoughtful design that felt abundant without trying too hard. The goal was to create a look that felt full and elevated but still let the conversation, the food, and the people be the focus.
Garden-style florals, natural elements, and the kind of simplicity that takes real planning to achieve. That's the sweet spot with my designs.🥰
