STARBASE Indiana - Gary

Yesterday we wrapped up our summer extravaganza with an experience in coding like no other! Our STARBASE NXT crew was comprised totally of familiar faces as we welcomed back some young engineers who have had at least one previous STARBASE experience.

This week, we took on a new approach to park safety by incorporating some robotic coding.

We appreciate and thank all of our parents that signed their young engineers up for our summer excursions and we can’t wait to kick off back to school in a few weeks!

But for now, summer vacay…is that you player!??😎🌞

Another amazing week of summer camp completed, and this time we took an outdoor adventure with our elementary underclassmen.

This week, our rising 3rd through 5th graders learned how to filter water, built habitats in the wild, explored nature up close with microscopes and created terrariums for our young engineers to go home with. There was so much creativity displayed in our team flag decorating contest, and of course we kept it competitive with our summertime water wars! 💦🔫

We’re pumped and ready for next week as we step into middle school and welcome back some familiar faces! STARBASE NXT will focus on taking our primary 1.0 curriculum up a notch 👀.

And just like that, summer is HERE and our first week of summer camps are in the books ✅.

We believe our approach to STEM education is so valuable that every student deserves access to it. As our reach continues to expand in the area, schools may fall outside of our scheduling capacity. Our STARBASE ONE camp was created with them in mind. We reserved this camp solely for students entering grades 5-7 that have never had the opportunity to take advantage of the STARBASE experience. And we had an absolute BLAST!!💥

This week, we’ve been creating chalk from scratch, solving a crime mystery, coding robots, launching rockets, teaching the kids how to turn some jump rope (can’t be losing recipes out here 😆) and so much more!

We’re right back at it next week with our STARBASE GO camp, where we’ll be exploring (and escaping 👀) the wild with our rising 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders!🏕️

There is NO COST for the program; however, Parents/Legal Guardians must provide lunches each day and transportation to/from STARBASE.
