Last weekend marked the final show of the Kentucky Reining Horse Association's 2026 season. Highlights included Cutter Cook riding Karen Bailey's Drinkin Moonshine (Dino) was Champion in the Open and Intermediate Open on Saturday scoring a 74 1/2, a career high for Cutter. Cutter riding another of Karen's mounts, Colonels Special Gun (Frost), was Reserve Champion in the Opens with a 73 1/2 on Saturday and Champion on Sunday with a 73.

It's always great spending time with friends, our barn family, and the horses we love. Thanks to everyone at KRHA for a great show and to Bruce Brown and the Lakeside team.

Thank you TN reining for a great show. Although it was hot, the venue, hospitality, and camaraderie were second to none. We had some great runs, some learning moments, lots of laughs, and tons of fun.

Cook Performance Horses had a productive and fun show at the Rein for the Roses reining at Lakeside Arena.

COLONELS SPECIAL GUN owned by Karen Bailey and shown by Cutter Cook were first in the Intermediate open and the NRHA open with a HUGE 73.5 on Sunday!

Cutter Cook and DRINKIN MOONSHINE also owned by Karen Bailey, were 1st on Saturday and third on Sunday in the Intermediate Open and NRHA Open levels.

Seth Chunglo and NU LIL GATLIN GUN were 4th in Green 1 (Sunday). Seth also showed his first shootout in the Green Reiner division.

Hannah Rowland and MIF USA pulled two seconds in Green 2 on Saturday and Sunday.

Caden Cook continued his winning streak with TOPSAILS LITTLEPRIZE, earning a 1st in the short stirrup class BOTH days with a consistent 71 score.

METALLIC CASH and Colton Cook were second on Saturday and Sunday in the short Stirrup. This team continues to get stronger each time they show.

Karen Bailey and her trusty mount DARLINS CODY BOY swept all THREE levels of the Rookie on Sunday.

Karen and her new mount, and A WHIZARD DREAM (Also known as Tater Tot🤣) were 2nd Rookie 1, 1st Rookie 2, and 2nd Rookie PT.

Karen and her beautiful buckskin, DRINKIN MOONSHINE were 3rd in Rookie PT and Rookie 2 and also 4th in Rookie 1. On Sunday they continued their winning ways with a 4th in Rookie PT, 4th Rookie 2, and 2nd in Rookie level 1.

Laura Brown and LOTTA MOBSTER got in the placings on Saturday with a 4th in Rookie PT.

Elizabeth Chunglo “cowgirl’d up” despite not feeling well and showed SMART IN A DRESS in the Novice and got in some good schooling runs.

Our proudest run was Miss Cassie Cook who made her very first trip to the show pen on DONT TINKER WITH ME in the walk trot. Not only did Cassie stay on pattern but she had the loudest cheering session of the show!

A huge thank you to Ryan Behne Horseshoeing and Dr Ashley Embly with Rood and Riddle for keeping our horses sound and healthy.

Thank you to Bruce Brown of Lakeside Arena and the Kentucky Reining Horse Association for hosting the show and the hospitality.

A special shout out to the person who keeps us organized and on track with 12 head of horses. Sam Brown, we couldn’t do this without you! Words can’t express what you mean to the entire team.

Wow! What a way to celebrate the success of the 2025 show season and welcome 2026. Thank you to the many board members and volunteers for hosting a great banquet in Lexington last night. Our barn family came together not only to celebrate success in the show pen but to enjoy our friend and fellowship outside of the barn.

🏆 First on Saturday AND Sunday with a clean sweep in the Limited Open, Intermediate Open, and unrestricted Open. Cody Boy was on fire and marked a HUGE 73.5 both days!

Colton Cook also showed Cody Boy to a second place 🥈 finish on Saturday AND Sunday in the Short Stirrup for riders under age ten. A testimate to how truly special this horse is, as there are not many who can win the professional class and turn around and pack a short stirrup’er around the ring the same day. Thank you so much to Karen Bailey for sharing this special animal. ❤️
