Touchmark at Georgetown

This Independence Day, we're reminded that our ability to gather with family and friends, celebrate our freedoms, and enjoy the traditions of the Fourth of July is made possible by the service and sacrifice of people like Touchmark resident Ken Cumings.

When Ken was a young boy, he told his father: "Daddy, when I grow up, I'm going to be in the Navy, and I'm going to be a second-class petty officer."

He achieved that goal—and then exceeded it. "I went in as a seaman and retired as a commander."

Today, we honor Ken and all who have served our country. Thank you for your dedication, your leadership, and the example you've set for generations to come.
