It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our retired K9 Rocky.

Rocky joined the Georgetown Police Department in 2017, where he began his journey alongside his first handler, Lt. Mike Scott. Together, they spent four weeks training in Clair, Michigan, forming a bond and partnership that would serve our community with courage, loyalty, and dedication.

When Lt. Scott was promoted to Sergeant in 2019, Rocky was partnered with Sgt. Todd Adams. Together, they continued Rocky's career until his well-earned retirement in 2023.

Rocky was an exceptional dual-purpose K9 who gave his all to the Georgetown Police Department every single day. His dedication, incredible work ethic, and loyal spirit made him an invaluable member of our agency. Whether working beside Lt. Scott or Sgt. Adams, Rocky never failed to give his very best.

Upon his retirement, Rocky returned home to live with Lt. Scott and his family, where he was able to enjoy the love, comfort, and peace he so richly deserved after years of faithful service.

Rocky was more than a police dog, he was a trusted partner, a protector, a loyal friend, and a beloved member of the GPD family. His paw prints will forever remain on our hearts, and his service will never be forgotten.

Please keep Lt. Scott, Sgt. Adams, their families, and all of our Georgetown Police Department family in your thoughts as we mourn the loss of a truly dedicated partner.

Rest well, Rocky.

You will forever be loved, forever missed, and we will be forever grateful for your service.

The Georgetown Police Department's Community Recovery Support Team (CRST) is committed to helping individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder. Through partnerships like Operation Hope – Angel Program, Voices of Hope, the WEDCO District Health Department, and the 14th Judicial Circuit Drug Court, our team helps connect people with treatment, transportation, recovery resources, and peer support—without judgment.

If you or someone you love is struggling, you don't have to face it alone. One conversation can change a life.
