We begin a new worship series this week on the five traits of Thriving Congregations as defined by our denominational partner, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. The first trait we'll examine is the foundation, Rooted Relationships. These communities are deeply connected: to Christ, to one another, and to their neighbors. Trust, vulnerability, and spiritual attentiveness shape their shared life.

š Fall Kick-Off Cookout ā THIS Wednesday! š
Join us this Wednesday, September 2 at 5:30 PM as we kick off a new season of Wednesday nights at Faith!
Weāll provide the hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, and desserts ā and weāre asking everyone to bring a generous side dish to share (chips, salads, fruit, veggies, etc.) (We had such a great crowd at our spring cookout that we ran out of sides, so bring a little extra and help us make sure thereās plenty for everyone!)
āļø We know itās going to be a hot one, so weāll have both indoor and outdoor seating available. Come enjoy the air conditioning inside, or head to the lawn for playground fun and outdoor games. Thereās a spot for everyone!
š¶ Live music from Ruth Bryant and the Eagle Creek Band
š§” Weāre especially excited to welcome some Georgetown College students to join us for the evening. Letās give them a warm Faith welcome and show them what our family of Faith does best: making room at the table for everyone.

Come lend a hand at our Church Work Day tomorrow! š§¹šØšæ
Join us Saturday, August 29, anytime between 8:00 AM and noon. Weāll have projects for all ability levels throughout the church building and outsideāplus coffee, juice, and doughnuts to keep us going! āš©
Together, weāll freshen up our space as an act of hospitality and welcomeāand maybe have a little fun along the way. Weād love to see you!

Weād love to hear from even more of our Faith family, with a goal of 75ā100 responses. The more people who participate, the clearer picture weāll have of where Faith is thriving, where we can grow, and how we can prepare well for our next chapter together.
The assessment takes about 20 minutes and is open through September 1 (which believe it or not is only a week away). You can find the link and all the details in your latest Faith File.

ā ļøThe church office is closed today, August 17, due to internet and phone outages. Staff are working from home as they are able and can be reached by cell phone or email. Church voicemail is still working and those messages will be checked regularly through 2 p.m. We appreciate your patience as we await restoration.

Today we will be offering a blessing for all students, educators, and school staff. We will also begin a new worship series, Outside the Box.
God is so much bigger than our fears.
God is bigger than our stereotypes.
God is bigger than our failures.
God is bigger than any box you and I can think to put God in.
Which means that a life of following God is so much bigger than we imagine it to be, too. Maybe this fall we can begin to break down some of the boxes that are just taking up space in the garage. Maybe we can be brave enough to open them up and take a look at whatās inside. And together, we can begin to imagine what it looks like to live our faith outside the box.
