Our 7th graders wrapped up their horticulture unit, plant science, by creating games to study content in class! Students got to put their knowledge to the test by creating something fun to play where their peers were able to study more about plants! Students got to but their leader in me skills in place but working together as a team, sharing out their ideas, and becoming more effective communicators!

This week is all in for a week in the state of Kentucky! This week, Royal Spring FFA is highlighting, local agriculture and getting it into the hands of younger students in Scott County schools. We were very excited today to go over to Anne Mason‘s first grade classrooms to teach them about agriculture. Today students got to learn how to show a pig for county fair. They also got to learn about what our agriculture commissioner, Jonathan Shell does. And we got to talk about how our food gets from farmers to our plates. We can’t wait to go back on Thursday and continue advocating.

We kicked off natural resources this week in ag!
8th graders did a challenge to build the tallest “trees” out of pipe cleaners. Just like trees stand tall so did some of their towers.
7th graders learned about conservation and how food sources effect wildlife.
6th grade did the ice challenge. They had to build something to keep the ice frozen the longest.

WOW WHAT A GREAT DAY 2 of convention!
Students got to network with industry leaders and colleges, and of course shopped. We then went out for a team dinner at Lex Live.
Only to come back and discovery that our very own Jimena scored the HIGHEST in quiz bowl in the ENTIRE state. We also got recognized at the state level as a chapter for growth this year, two years in a row!! I’m so proud of them and can’t wait to keep working hard!
