🚨 CAIR-Supporting Mosque Chosen as Wilco Voting Site 🚨

Local election officials and our County Commissioners Court have already approved the Islamic Center of Brushy Creek, a mosque with public ties to the Council on American Islamic Relations, as a polling location.

In 2024, ICBC signed on to a letter to then-President Joe Biden, voicing its support for CAIR. CAIR has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization by Governor Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the group earlier this year to stop them from operating in our state.

The Wilco GOP has already voiced its opposition to this selection, and you should, too.

UPDATE FROM GEORGETOWN PD: At approximately 12:49 p.m., Georgetown Police officers were dispatched to the area for a suspicious person investigation after callers reported a male subject jumping on vehicles and behaving erratically. Officers arrived at approximately 12:55 p.m. and located the subject. Based on the preliminary investigation, a violent struggle occurred between the subject and officers. During that struggle, the subject attempted to take a holstered handgun from one of the officers. Another officer subsequently discharged their firearm, striking the subject. Officers and emergency medical personnel provided assistance, and the subject was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

There is no active shooter and there is no ongoing threat to the public related to this incident. Information circulating on social media suggesting there was an active shooter on the Square was incorrect, according to Georgetown PD.
