Georgetown, Texas Police said its newest Animal Control Officer, Karina De Mascio, handled her first call after a report of a rattlesnake near mailboxes. Officers found the snake was a non-venomous Diamondback Water snake and relocated it to a habitat near water.

Georgetown, Texas police urged drivers to use caution after warning that small amounts of water on roadways can cause hydroplaning. The department said to allow extra time, avoid low water crossings, and turn around rather than drive into flooded areas.

Georgetown Police say an unidentified person entered unlocked vehicles and tried locked ones in a parking lot at Carroll Apartments. The department is asking the public to help identify the person.
