🐾💜💛 PUPPY FOSTERS NEEDED! 💛💜🐾

We have 8 little puppies, around 5–8 weeks old, who are looking for foster homes! They’re from two separate litters, and we have a little bit of everything. 🥹

🐾5 skinny babies who could use some extra TLC, good meals, and a cozy place to grow and gain some weight.

🐾3 chunky floofs who are a little more filled out and ready for some puppy adventures!

The best part? They only need a 1–2 week foster stay while they get some time out of the shelter and prepare for their next steps.

Because these puppies are from two separate litters, the litters cannot be housed together. The larger group of five can also be split up and sent to foster in groups of 2–3, so you don’t have to take all five!

🦴 We’re also looking for donations of wet puppy food to help keep these little ones well-fed while they grow!

Beetle Juice is diabetic and needs a dedicated foster who can help him maintain a consistent routine with twice-daily insulin, diabetic-friendly wet food, and monitoring of his eating, drinking, litterbox habits, and weight. 🐱🐾

Our medical team can teach his foster how to administer his insulin, so you don’t need prior experience; just a willingness to learn and commit to his care. 💜

We are approaching 220 dogs on campus, and we are desperately in need of foster homes to help us create some much-needed space.

Meet some of the dogs in Dog Adoption Room 1! Some are dogs we already have foster notes on, while others are dogs we’re hoping to get more information on.

These are just a few of the many dogs currently available for foster. Opening your home to even ONE dog can make a huge difference and create a kennel for another dog who needs us.

You’re always welcome to come to the shelter in person to meet dogs available for foster. Our lifesaving team would be happy to help you find a good match!

These six little travelers are named Bus, Truck, Gondola, Ferry, Subway, and Dinghy. These 7 week old little babies are looking for a temporary place to stop and stay a little bit! 🐾💜

Fostering would not only give them the time and environment they need to learn and grow, but also help protect them from exposure to illness in a busy shelter environment while they’re still young and developing. 🏡💛

And the best part? You do NOT need to take all six! We are happy to place 2–3 puppies together in a foster home, so you can help without taking on the whole crew. 💜

We’re looking for temporary foster homes where these little ones can grow, learn, play, and get lots of love while they wait for their next destination.

These guys only need a foster for about a week. Enough just to help them get where they’re going! 🚌💛

💛 FOSTER NEEDED: TOMMY PICKLES🥒 💜

Tommy Pickles is one incredibly resilient boy, and he is doing so well on his road to recovery! This sweet pup has been through head trauma, a broken lower jaw, dry eye in his left eye, and the removal of his right eye. Despite everything, Tommy is eating well, walking on his own with only mild unsteadiness, and showing improvement every day. 💜

🐾Tommy is currently taking pain and eye medications for the next 14 days, when he will have an in-person recheck with the shelter veterinarian to evaluate his jaw, eye, and overall healing.

🐾 His nylon muzzle must stay on at all times, except for approximately 10–20 minutes during meals and drinking, for the next 2–4 weeks to give his jaw the best chance to heal properly.

🐾 For the next 2 weeks, Tommy needs wet food or soaked/softened dry food while his jaw continues to heal.

🐾 The good news? Tommy has been cleared for longer outings and activity as he tolerates it! He can start enjoying a little more of the world while still being monitored and allowed to rest when he needs it.

Tommy will need another evaluation after about 4 weeks to determine whether his muzzle can finally come off and whether any additional treatment for his jaw will be necessary. 💜

Tommy's overall prognosis is GOOD! With consistent care, medication, careful monitoring, and follow-up, he has a very good chance of continuing to improve and living a happy, comfortable life, but he is already showing us just how strong he is. 💛

Tommy will need a patient and gentle foster who understands that he has been through a lot and may need some time to get comfortable and build trust with his new person. He doesn't need someone to fix everything; he just needs someone willing to give him a safe place to heal and be patient with him along the way. 💜

Theo doesn’t need anything fancy, just a comfortable, loving home where he can settle in and enjoy a slower pace of life. His foster would help keep an eye out for signs of pain, discomfort, changes in appetite, or anything that may indicate changes in his quality of life. Most importantly, Theo deserves to spend his senior years surrounded by love and comfort. 🐾💜

Tommy Pickles has already overcome so much, and now he just needs a safe, loving foster home where he can continue to heal. 💜🐾

This sweet, resilient boy is recovering beautifully after suffering head trauma, a broken lower jaw, and the loss of his right eye. Despite everything he's been through, Tommy is eating his wet food like a champ, walking on his own with only a little unsteadiness, and getting stronger every single day. 💛

For the next 4 weeks, Tommy's recovery depends on following a few simple restrictions:

🐾Wet food only until his veterinarian clears him to start softened food.
🐾Quiet activity only, with short 5-minute leash walks while he continues to recover.

Tommy is looking for someone who can be patient, gentle, and understanding as he learns to trust and gets to know them. He's been through a lot, so he'll need a calm environment and a kind heart while he builds confidence and settles in.

💜🐾Foster Hero Needed for Charlie the Cat (Or Medical Pre-Adopter)💛🐾

Meet Charlie: a young, incredibly sweet, affectionate boy whose heart is just as strong as his spirit. 💜

Before arriving at the shelter, Charlie suffered a spinal injury that left him permanently paralyzed in his back legs. While he won't walk again, Charlie hasn't let that define him. He still loves attention, enjoys affection, and is ready to show someone just how special he is. 💛🐾

Charlie is one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. He loves being around people, soaking up attention, and showing his appreciation with plenty of affection. In fact, during bladder expressions, Charlie is such a loving little guy that he gives kisses to his caregivers while they help take care of him. 💜🐾 His gentle, trusting personality makes his special care feel like a rewarding experience rather than a chore. 💛

Charlie is looking for a compassionate foster or medical pre-adopt home willing to help him navigate life with his special needs. His care includes:

💜 Bladder expressions 2–3 times a day (our medical team will provide training and support!)
💛 Occasional help managing bowel movements
💜 Strict rest for the next 6 weeks while his spine continues to heal
💛 Medications (prednisolone and gabapentin) to keep him comfortable during recovery
💜 Monitoring for urinary tract infections and skin sores from dragging his back legs

Charlie is incontinent, which means he cannot control when he urinates or has bowel movements. A consistent feeding routine, keeping him clean with baths or baby wipes, and watching for constipation are all part of helping him stay healthy. While his condition is permanent, many paralyzed cats live long, happy, fulfilling lives with dedicated caregivers. 💛💜

The best part? You won't be doing this alone. 💜🐾

Charlie qualifies for a medical pre-adopt program, and there are a couple of ways you can help him:

💜 You can foster Charlie for an initial 8-week period while he rests, recovers, and becomes comfortable in a home environment. During this time, our medical team will provide training, guidance, and support. After the 8 weeks, we will reassess Charlie’s needs and determine whether his best chance for adoption is continuing in his foster home or returning to the shelter so more potential adopters can meet him. 🐾

💛 If at any point you decide Charlie is the perfect fit for your family, you can choose to adopt him while continuing as his medical pre-adopt home. You will still have the support and guidance of our team as you learn his lifelong care needs. 💜

Charlie's prognosis for walking again is poor...but his prognosis for being an amazing companion is excellent. He doesn't know he's different. He just knows he wants love, comfort, and someone to believe in him. 💛🐾

Special needs pets often wait the longest because they need someone willing to see beyond their disability. Charlie is hoping that person is out there. 💜

Food for Fosters

We wanted to take a moment to clarify our policy regarding food for foster dogs.

It has recently come to our attention that there has been some confusion regarding the distribution of dog food. In some recent cases, fosters have received full bags of food from the shelter. However, we have since learned that our shelter food supply is designated specifically for the dogs in our on-site care and is not intended for ongoing distribution to foster homes.

To help each dog transition into foster care, every foster home will continue to receive a Ziploc bag of food when a dog is placed with them.

After that initial supply, fosters have two options:

1. Provide food for their foster dog, or
2. Obtain food from our Community Pet Pantry, when supplies are available.

Please note that the Community Pet Pantry is stocked through donations and may not always have food available. Because availability cannot be guaranteed, we encourage fosters to plan on providing food for their foster dogs whenever possible.
