Orenda Charter School District was honored to recently present Texas State Representative Col. (Ret.) Terry Wilson (district 20) with a Charter Champion Award! 🎉

Alongside the Texas Public Charter Schools Association (TPCSA), we recognize Rep. Wilson for his steadfast commitment to championing public charter schools and advocating for educational choice across Texas.

District 20 includes Gateway Tech High School, and we thank Rep. Wilson, for his continued support of Texas families and students!

Orenda Charter School District earns A rating from
Texas Education Agency for second straight year

GEORGETOWN, Texas — For the second year in a row, Orenda Charter School District earned an A from the Texas Education Agency in the 2026 Accountability Ratings.

The district's largest school, Gateway College Preparatory, scored a high A, earning five of seven campus distinctions. Kingsland School received a C, and Gateway Tech, a high school credit recovery school, received an A. Nolan Creek School in Belton earned a B for the first time in the school's 10-year history.

"Our scores are a reflection of two years of intentional hard work, centered on data-driven instruction, personalized learning plans and a relentless focus on student growth and college readiness," said Carla Silber, superintendent of Orenda Charter School District. "I am so honored to work and lead such an amazing district of educators."

Texas provides annual academic accountability ratings to its public school districts. The ratings are based on performance on state standardized tests, graduation rates, and college, career and military readiness outcomes. They examine student achievement, school progress and the closing of achievement gaps among student groups. The most recent individual district and campus data is available at TXschools.gov.
