What a great sight. Kids helping put the hay in the barn. Ellie is handy on the tractor and Lane driving the truck. Haiden and Carson both jumped on mowers and got it done. 10:30 and already 88 out.

We had some visitors to the farm today. We have flowers so we slung some plant food to our flowers. Gathered some produce. Then eked-out when we found a Monarch caterpillar on our milkweed just outside the greenhouse back door, as a beautiful Monarch fluttered around us. That’s what we had hoped for!

Sherry welcomed Venture Productions to the farm today to the Butterfly Sanctuary for a short story on the endangered Monarch and their migration process to and from Mexico.

Venture released their newly hatched Painted Lady butterflies. In addition, we had a visit from a Meadow Fritillary and a Yellow Swallowtail.

Here are a few pics of the release and then lunchtime with the furbabies present LOL! at the Sweetpea Pavillion! Thank Venture!s

Finally, I can report to Monarch Joint Venture my 1st of the season Monarch Sighting! Seems so late. Photo for interest as I didn’t have my phone on me for a photo as it fluttered by.

Where, oh where, are the Monarchs?
We are ready for them. Milkweeds and flowers at the Butterfly Sanctuary.
