The GISD Education Foundation hosts an annual Back-to-School Business Fair and invites local businesses and nonprofits to participate. It’s the one time of year that businesses are invited in to engage with the district’s nearly 2,000 employees.

On June 19, 1865 in Galveston, Texas, the last enslaved people in the United States learned they were free. A day that came more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, Juneteenth celebrates and reflects on a pivotal moment in history.

GHS Salutatorian Emma Cooke excelled in multiple CTE pathways and programs in GISD.
Next, she's heading to the University of Texas at Austin to study biology in the fall!
When students have access to opportunities AND the support to pursue them, bright futures are built.
At tonight's regularly scheduled board meeting, trustees took action to Approve a Balanced Budget for 2026-27.
