Unlike a bond, a Voter-Approval Tax Ratification Election (VATRE) does not fund specific construction projects and does not incur new debt. For Georgetown ISD, funds from Prop A would go directly to:

How GISD's Budget Prioritizes the Classroom:
A recent third-party efficiency audit on GISD's spending showed that 58.8% of our budget is spent on classroom learning. That's 4.3% more than peer districts across the state, or $7.1M more.

Only 2.3% of our budget goes into district administration compared to the state average of 3.1%. That's over $1M less spent on administration than districts our size.

The work of our 2026-27 Student Advisory Council has begun with our biggest group yet!

Students from Georgetown HS, Richarte HS and East View HS come together every year to build relationships, connect with district leaders and use their voice to enhance the GISD student experience.

We can't wait to see what the year has in store for this group.
