Fall Break with a purpose. 🧡💙
Since 2003, students in English Prof. Christopher Fee’s First-Year Seminar, Literature and Legacy of Homelessness in America, have traveled to Washington, D.C., to learn firsthand about the realities of homelessness and work alongside organizations serving those in need.
Over the years, nearly 320 students have participated in this experience, connecting classroom learning with meaningful service and making an impact in communities beyond campus.
This year’s group is on the road again! Follow their experiences and reflections throughout the trip: https://fee2026fys.blogspot.com/

You know the Disney. Meet the filmmaker using storytelling to inspire change.
Filmmaker and philanthropist Abigail Disney joined the Gettysburg College community for the 20th anniversary of the Derrick K. Gondwe Memorial Lecture on Social and Economic Justice, bringing together members of the Gondwe family, faculty, community members, and students from across campus.
Through conversations on storytelling, economic inequality, human dignity, and social change, students from Africana Studies, Economics, Cinema and Media Studies, Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and other disciplines explored how different perspectives can intersect to deepen understanding and inspire action.
