It may look like “ONLY” a new turn lane—but there’s a lot more happening beneath the surface! 🚧

Hunter Contracting Co. is constructing a new right-turn pocket at John Wayne Parkway and Cobblestone Drive in the City of Maricopa. The project includes roadway grading, concrete flatwork, a double-barrel concrete box culvert, asphalt paving, a retaining wall, and traffic signal modifications with new equipment.

Every element plays a part in improving traffic flow and keeping Maricopa moving forward!

The work most people never see is often the work that matters most.

Before roads open, neighborhoods grow, or businesses move in, there's a team making sure the infrastructure beneath our feet is built the right way.

Every pipe set, every lift, and every connection is the result of skilled professionals working together with precision and purpose.

What's one piece of infrastructure you think deserves more appreciation? 👇

We'd love to hear your answer.

Returning Project Engineer Intern KJ is back at Hunter Contracting after gaining valuable experience on the Inner Basin Waterline Project, where he had the opportunity to learn from experienced superintendents and collaborate with fellow NAU students.

This summer, KJ is looking forward to taking on more responsibility, participating in owner meetings, and continuing to grow both technically and professionally.

His advice for this year's interns?

"Learn to work with everybody."

Every project brings together people with different personalities, strengths, and perspectives. The more you learn from those around you, the more successful you'll be.

We're proud to have KJ back on the team and can't wait to see what he accomplishes this summer.
