An emu in a Gilbert canal was not on our officers' bingo card.
Thankfully, some quick-thinking residents safely pulled it from the water before our officers arrived. Officers then gave their new feathered passenger a ride to a local animal rescue.
Thank you to the neighbors who stepped in to help!
And shoutout this Field Training Officer/ Officer In Training pair. Fresh out of academy, this was Officer Ramos' first week on the road. One to remember!
