WGA 5th Grade

Our 5th graders celebrated Brave Beginnings and the end of our first quarter by showcasing their incredible creativity and learning!

Students created 3D zoetropes representing core values they believe are important in the communities and world they imagine, digital portfolios highlighting their work, and line drawing portraits to decorate our event.

The zoetropes took countless trials, errors, and revisions to bring their animations to life under a strobe light. It is truly something you have to see in person!

We are so proud of their creativity, perseverance, and big ideas! 💛 Weinberg Gifted Academy

Our young “homesteaders” are traveling west one letter at a time using historical facts, vocabulary, and imagination to tell the stories of real homesteaders.

We have been so lucky to be able to catch some nice weather first thing in the morning to test our rocket copters. We love doing this engineering challenge to build community and work our way through the design process. Weinberg Gifted Academy

In just a week and a half, our fifth graders have been building more than academic skills. They’re learning that challenges help us grow, failure isn’t final, and kindness matters because everyone has more beneath the surface than we can see. We’re building a classroom where we lift each other up and celebrate each other! Weinberg Gifted Academy

The fifth grade team is so excited to start the year with you! Weinberg Gifted Academy

ISTE Orlando was an absolute whirlwind, and Ms. Roberts alongside other WGA staff are coming back inspired. Beyond exploring cutting-edge technology and connecting with educators worldwide, our very own Ms. Roberts did a fabulous job presenting and representing our school. We can’t wait to bring all this energy, curiosity, and innovation straight into our 5th-grade classrooms this year.

We had a blast with our buddies yesterday! Fifth graders created kids menus for Pre-K students to color 😊They loved it so much, we’re going to make more and laminate them for their dramatic play area!

One last buddy grade time with this morning. We made a beautiful art display in our shared courtyard and also learned what a CD is. 😆 We love building community across campus.
