There comes a point in life when you start asking the important questions. 😂

Is it comfortable?

Can I actually sit down in it?

Can I wear it around the house and then leave without changing my entire outfit?

And, perhaps most importantly...

Does it have an elastic waist? 🙌

The best casual pieces don’t make you choose between feeling comfortable and looking put together.

Wear them for a slow morning at home.

Add sneakers.

Throw on a denim jacket.

Grab your bag.

Go.

Same comfy bottoms. Completely different plans.

Because comfortable enough to stay in and cute enough to go out sounds like a pretty good combination to us. 🤎

Be honest: On a scale of 1–10, how important is an elastic waistband?

There will always be something else you could be doing.

Another load of laundry.

Another email.

Another room that needs attention.

Another plan to make.

Another item waiting on a list that somehow gets longer while you’re working on it.

It’s easy to start believing that rest belongs at the bottom of that list—something we’re allowed to have once everything else is finished.

But everything is rarely finished.

In Mark 6, after a time when Jesus and His disciples were surrounded by so many people that they didn’t even have a chance to eat, Jesus said:

“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
— Mark 6:31 (NIV)

Sometimes stopping is part of what you need.

Some things can wait.

You don’t have to finish everything before you’re allowed to rest.

Rest is not wasted time. 🤎

🍂 We need to establish some boundaries around the word “cozy.” 😂

Because apparently...there are levels.

A — JUST A LITTLE COZY
One throw blanket.
Very reasonable.
You could still leave the house if necessary.

B — COMMITTED TO COZY
Blanket + candle + warm drink.
You’re settling in.
Plans are becoming questionable.

C — PROFESSIONAL LEVEL
Multiple blankets.
Slippers.
Book.
Snacks within reach.
You clearly came prepared.

D — I LIVE HERE NOW
Full blanket nest.
Phone charger nearby.
Everything within arm’s reach.
Absolutely no reason to get up. 😂

Be honest.

What level are you?

A, B, C or D?

And yes, combination answers are allowed.

Bonus points if you’re already at D and it’s only October 3. 😂👇

🤎 Honestly, “I saw this and thought of you” might be one of the nicest reasons to give someone something.

No birthday.

No anniversary.

No holiday.

No reason you’re technically supposed to be shopping for them.

You just saw something and immediately knew who it belonged to.

Maybe it reminded you of an inside joke.

A favorite color.

Something they always say.

Something they love.

Or it simply felt so much like them that leaving it behind seemed impossible. 😂

Those are the gifts that say something before the wrapping paper ever comes off:

I know you.
I notice you.
I thought of you today.

Some gifts don’t need an occasion.

☕ Some mornings require a motivational speech.

Others require coffee and five more minutes. 😂

We spend a surprising amount of our mornings getting ready for somewhere else.

Work.
Appointments.
Errands.
The never-ending to-do list.

But the room where the day begins deserves a little attention, too.

Soft towels.
A favorite candle.
A pretty place for the everyday things.
A warm cup of coffee before anyone starts asking questions. 😉

It doesn’t take a complete bathroom makeover to make your morning feel a little better.

Sometimes it’s simply the little details that turn “getting ready” into a few minutes you actually enjoy.

Hot shower.
Warm coffee.
Then we’ll talk. ☕🤎

🍂 September introduced us to fall.

October plans to move in. 😂

The evenings are getting darker a little earlier.

The blankets are staying on the sofa.

The layers are getting warmer.

Candles somehow become completely necessary.

And staying home starts sounding suspiciously like a really good plan. 🤎

This is the part of the season we love.

Cozy homes.
Easy layers.
Beautiful little details.
Gathering around the table.
And finding more reasons to enjoy where you are.

October is calling.

We’re answering. 🍂

👗 Some mornings, matching a top to a bottom feels unnecessarily ambitious. 😂

That’s when the dress wins.

One piece.

Add shoes.

Grab a bag.

Maybe throw on a layer.

Done.

The best everyday dresses aren’t the ones waiting in the closet for somewhere special to go.

They’re the ones you can actually live in.

☕ Coffee
👜 Errands
🍂 Lunch
💻 Work
🍽️ Dinner

Sneakers and a denim jacket can keep things casual.

Ankle boots and a crossbody can take you through the afternoon.

Add earrings and a cardigan and you’re ready for dinner.

Same dress. Different day. Plenty of possibilities.

What makes a dress an everyday favorite for you—comfort, pockets, easy care...or all three? 😂

☕ Every house has a room everyone somehow ends up in.

You can have a perfectly comfortable living room.

Plenty of chairs.

A beautiful dining table.

And yet...

Everyone is standing around the kitchen island. 😂

Talking.
Laughing.
Pouring another cup of coffee.
Pretending they’re helping.
And probably sampling whatever happens to be nearby.

Maybe that’s because kitchens aren’t only where we prepare things.

They’re where we gather. 🤎

And sometimes it’s the little details that make that everyday space feel especially welcoming—the favorite mugs, pretty linens, serving pieces and accessories that make the kitchen feel like home.

Come for the coffee.
Stay for the conversation.

When people come to your house, where does everyone actually end up?

09/27/2026

Sometimes we want God to show us the whole map.

Where this is going.

How it’s going to work out.

What happens after this.

Whether we’re making the right decision.

And what we’re supposed to do if the plan changes.

But sometimes, we aren’t given the whole map.

We’re given enough light for today.

Enough wisdom for the decision in front of us.

Enough strength for this season.

Enough grace for the next step.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.”
— Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

A lamp doesn’t illuminate every mile ahead.

It gives enough light to keep walking.

You don’t have to know where the entire path leads to faithfully take the step that’s in front of you. 🤎

🍂 Important fall research is happening at ZumBuys. 😂

We need to know which fall person you are.

A — THE COZY ONE
Give me a blanket, something warm to drink and permission to cancel my plans. ☕📖

B — THE OUTDOOR ONE
I waited all summer for this weather. Open the windows. Find the trail. I’m going outside. 🍁

C — THE DECORATOR
I went out for one pumpkin.
I came home with nine. 🎃
And mums.
And probably another wreath.

D — THE FOODIE
Honestly, I’m mostly here because cinnamon exists. 😂

So...which one are you?

A, B, C or D?

And yes, combination answers are absolutely allowed.

We have a feeling there are quite a few A + C + D people around here. 😂👇
