The Campo Verde High School Biomedical Science Program nspires team work, curiosity, “out of the box” thinking, and real world problem solving. Students will be exposed to careers related to science, with an emphasis on allied health care and biomedical engineering. The CVHS Biomedical Science Program implements a three tiered approach: Project based classroom instruction the is rich, varied, and challenging, “Real World” experiences such as guest speakers, company tours, university tours, job shadowing, internships, and after school competitions, and Service Of Others through numerous community service projects designed to inspire the community and students.
Year 3 task….figure out how to create one new strain of E. Coli with two different resistant genes. Final product- Create a picture to show it was successful. 👏🦠🧫👏

Taking a closer look at DNA and the process to extract it for analyzing in year 1.
Year 3 learning about how to test several different antibiotics to determine which one is the most effective at preventing the growth of a strain of bacteria.
Girls in STEM are so excited to partner up with Phx Children’s Mercy Gilbert and Go, Baby, Go to service our third family. We met Boston (who was born with brittle bone disease) and took measurements. Can’t wait to see his eyes light up as he receives his new car we will modify for him. Stay tuned.
