Both cuts are good to cook low and slow.
Both have a yummy fat cap underneath.
Picanha is the cap of the top sirloin, it’s more tender.c and it’s popular in Brazilian steak houses.
Tri-tip is the lower part of the sirloin and slightly leaner. It’s good for sandwiches, good on the smoker, and a nice ‘slice and serve’ cut of meat.
