"Do I really need pest control year-round in the desert?" 🤔 It's our most-asked question here in Gilbert — and the answer is yes. AZ pests don't take a winter off. A recurring exterior barrier treatment creates a protective ring around your home so scorpions, ants, spiders and roaches stop crossing the threshold before you ever see them inside. Our trained technicians retreat on a schedule so the barrier never wears thin between visits. Family- and pet-friendly, and built for our East Valley heat. 🔥

Quick ant checklist for East Valley homes 🐜✔️ Before you reach for the store-bought spray, run through this: 1) Wipe down counters and store food in sealed containers. 2) Take out crumbs and sticky spills the same day. 3) Fix any dripping faucets — ants need water too. 4) Seal gaps around doors and windows. 5) Skip squishing the trail, which just scatters them. The real game-changer is exterior baiting, where workers carry the bait back and wipe out the whole colony at its source. Knock out the colony, not just the scouts. Firehouse has handled desert ants since 2017. 🍯

🌧️🔥 RAIN, RAIN… AND THE PESTS ARE COMING! 🔥🌧️

All this Arizona rain may be a nice change of pace, but it can also create the perfect conditions for pests and w**ds to take off! 🦂🦟🌱

After heavy rain, keep an eye out for:

🏠 TERMITES — Increased soil moisture can lead to more termite activity around your home.

🦟 MOSQUITOES — Even small amounts of standing water can create breeding areas.

🌱 WEEDS — Rain + Arizona sunshine = w**ds can start popping up FAST!

The best time to get ahead of these problems is before they get out of control.

🔥 Firehouse Pest Service has you covered. From pest and termite control to mosquito and w**d services, our team is ready to help protect your home and property.

📲 Call or message us today to get on the schedule!

And remember — we offer FREE termite inspections! 🏠🔍

Mosquito control in Ahwatukee starts with smart water management! 🦟 Tiny amounts of standing water in plant saucers, birdbaths, or clogged gutters are perfect breeding grounds after monsoon rain. Dump, scrub, and refresh water sources regularly. Firehouse pairs source reduction with targeted yard treatments to give your home the ultimate mosquito defense.

Property managers — a tenant just reported a pest. Now what? 🏘️ Don't wait for the complaints to multiply. Document where and what was seen, check neighboring units since pests travel between them, and loop in a pest partner who responds quickly and keeps clean records. We work with property managers, HOA managers, realtors, and home inspectors across the East Valley to handle reports fast and protect both residents and your reputation. One report handled right keeps a small issue from becoming a building-wide one. 📋

Myth: "There are no termites in the desert." 🐛 Reality check, Gilbert — subterranean termites are very much an Arizona thing. They live underground, build pencil-thin mud tubes up your foundation, and quietly chew on wood long before you ever spot a swarm after a monsoon rain. The good news? A yearly inspection catches them early, and our trained, licensed techs know exactly where to look. Don't let a desert myth cost you your studs and baseboards. 🏠
