Millions struggle with alcohol, yet society blames the individual rather than the substance. We've been told that if quitting feels hard, we’re broken. Personally, I know this firsthand…
My brother, Duggan, battled alcohol for over 25 years. He was told he had a disease, that he’d always struggle, and that the only solution was lifelong abstinence—while the rest of society continued drinking. He tried so hard, but in April 2023, he lost his battle. My college roommate and best friend currently lives in a memory care facility due to alcohol induced dementia. We were shocked to find out in 2020 that alcohol had permanently damaged her brain and she was fully disabled at 40 years old. After COVID and early motherhood, I found myself drinking too much. I feared admitting it, believing I’d be sentenced to a life of struggle. Truthfully, I had used alcohol since I was 16 years old and believed it was the ‘glue’ that kept my life together. Then I discovered This Naked Mind. It didn’t require willpower—it changed my beliefs. Suddenly, alcohol lost its appeal, and I’ve been effortlessly alcohol-free since November 2022. That realization changed everything. I wanted to create a space where others could safely question alcohol’s role in their lives—without judgment, stigma, or shame. That’s why I founded Perfectly Made A.F.—to expose the truth about alcohol, challenge the double standards, and empower people to break free in a way that feels right for them. exists because everyone deserves the chance to experience this same freedom—regardless of their financial situation. No one should struggle the way my brother did. No family should have to watch their loved one battle alcohol alone, relying on willpower while suffering alongside them. Unfortunately, most free programs offer little beyond abstinence. But there are powerful, affordable programs that address the emotional and psychological roots of alcohol dependence—helping people create true, lasting change. exists to bridge that gap, ensuring that financial barriers never stand in the way of freedom and happiness.

So PMAF gets to step in.
Our first partial scholarship will help fund her remaining months so finances don’t have to interrupt her progress.
Sometimes a scholarship helps someone begin.

We are incredibly honored to welcome our 25th, 26th and 27th Perfectly Made A.F. Scholars, three women, in three different states, with three very different stories… all ready to discover what life can look like without alcohol.

A woman in her 40s who has experienced the devastating loss of her brother to alcohol use disorder. She knows firsthand what alcohol can take and she is ready to choose a different path for herself.
💫 Scholar #27 | Oregon
A woman in her 30s, a mom who lost her fiancé to alcohol use disorder, ready to build a healthier, freer life for herself and her family.
These are the stories behind the numbers.
27 scholarships. 27 humans. 27 opportunities for something to change.
And behind every scholarship is someone who donated, attended an event, sponsored our work, shared a post, told a friend, or simply believed in what we are building.

Today would have been my brother Duggan’s 51st birthday. ❤️
I wish more than anything he were here to celebrate it.
Duggan is a huge part of why Perfectly Made A.F. exists- and why this mission means so much to me.
