Over the past three days, GCFR, GCEMS, and GCE911 participated in specialized pediatric training focused on trauma care and water emergencies. This valuable training strengthened our knowledge, enhanced interagency coordination, and reinforced our commitment to providing the highest level of care to the children and families we serve.
A special thank you to the Grady Trauma Division for providing outstanding instruction and to Reynolds Lake Oconee for allowing Greene County to utilize Reynolds Landing for the hands-on water rescue training. Strong partnerships and collaboration make all the difference, and we are grateful for the relationships that help us better serve our community.

This weekend, GCFR crews responded to several critical incidents across the county.
On C-Shift, E12, E11, E13, Batt1, T2, and GCEMS M12 responded to a residential garage fire. Crews quickly initiated an aggressive fire attack, successfully containing the fire to the garage and preventing it from extending into the home. Their rapid actions saved significant property and helped keep the incident from becoming much worse. No injuries were reported at the house fire.
In addition, Marine 9, alongside Liberty Fire Marine 7, provided fire and life safety support during the Ritz fireworks show. Thanks to the preparation and coordination of all agencies involved, the event concluded safely with no reported injuries.
We appreciate the dedication and professionalism of our personnel who continue to serve our community around the clock. We thank all of our partners, especially our GCE911 dispatchers, who are always working to get the emergencies out quickly and accurately. We hope everyone had a great July 4th weekend! ❤️🇺🇸💙
