Who should I bring this to?! 👇😆

Self-defense starts way before the fight.

Sometimes it’s simply recognizing that someone is getting too close, understanding your personal space, and knowing how to create distance when something doesn’t feel right or when to close in the space when you can’t simply run.

These are some of the basic concepts I love teaching young people because self-defense isn’t about making kids afraid or teaching them to fight.

It’s about awareness, confidence, boundaries, and having a plan.

The ability to recognize a situation early and respond appropriately can be just as important as knowing a physical technique.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how I can bring this kind of education to more students…

So I’m excited to share a special announcement TOMORROW for schools both — nationally and internationally. 🌎

This has been something I’ve wanted to build for a long time, and I can’t wait to share more. ❤️

3 things that got me into learning jiu jitsu was growing up in South America, traveling alone often, and wanting to know Id be okay if something ever happened where I was caught in a bad situation.

It gave me confidence to know if I was ever in a hard place I could find a way out(a lot like life 😬).

It was being able to know more than staying in a fearful state.

It gave a sense of empowerment and connection with my head and mind that created a place to distress from life.

That’s how I got into helping middle and high school student with self defense. Going into a world of unknowns and wanted to prepare them in basic ways that so many don’t really talk about.

Now I see some of the kids want to continue to learn and grow in jiu jitsu, I see the spark in the eye of connection and the confidence boost it gives when you know how to defend yourself if something happens.

That’s the kind skill that keeps on giving🩷 and boy o boy do I love planting those seeds 🥰

A whole year with you💙

It’s hard to put into words the fierce yet sweet love I have for this sweet boy. He has wrecked my world in the best way.

Elias, you are so goofy, joyful, strong willed, curious and chatty in all the best ways.

Motherhood, like many things in life cannot truly be explained in its depth with how it changes you. It can truly only be experienced.

In all the amazing aspects it has made me more sacrificial, selfless, protective and also childlike in ways I never would’ve thought. It tests you beyond belief but is also the most profound and fulfilling thing I’ve done yet💙 I’d go to great lengths for you my sweet boy. You are so so loved💙
