Akanimo Cancer Foundation
A 501 (c) (3) approved non-profit, created to raise awareness and support for childhood cancer In June 2007, our lives changed forever. This cancer was rare.
A beautiful baby came into our lives. He was everything a parent would want and lived a full life like most kids usually do.
10 years later, our lives changed again, this time in the other direction. Our boisterous young man was diagnosed of cancer 4 months after his 10th birthday. So rare it has never before been on file as diagnosed in our home country of Nigeria. So rare even doctors would rac

Richard recently celebrated his 4th birthday. He also recently progressed successfully from Phase 4 to Phase 5 of his maintenance cycle for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. You made that possible by supporting the work we do. Richard has come a long way and still has a ways to go but we are hopeful that he will continue to do exceedingly well.
Drop a message of encouragement for Richard...

If you ever watch a child fight cancer, your life would never be the same again.
This is a fact!
a fact we know too well to be true because here we are...
You would never look at a bald head the same way again.
You would never hear the sound of a chemotherapy pump without remembering the child lying quietly beside it.
You would never see tiny hands covered in IV lines without wondering why someone so small has to carry a burden so heavy.
You would watch children learn to be strong, to endure, to persevere.
You would see parents smile through tears so their child never sees them break.
You would realize that childhood cancer doesn't just steal health.
It steals birthdays.
It steals classrooms.
It steals friendships.
It steals dreams.
And far too often...
It steals futures too.
But it doesn't have to.
Every child deserves the chance to grow up, graduate, fall in love, build a career, become a parent or make any choices they want for their lives...and most of all, they deserve toot have their childhood stolen by disease
They deserve to grow old.
That future depends on what we choose to do today.
Support childhood cancer research.
Raise awareness.
Advocate for earlier diagnosis.
Stand with families walking this unimaginable journey.
Because no child should have to fight for a future they're only just beginning to imagine.
Help us change the story. One child. One family. One remission at a time. πποΈ

Happy New Month
From All of Us at Akanimo Cancer Foundation
07/31/2026
As July comes to a close, we want to say one simple but heartfelt word:
Thank you.
Thank you for reading our posts, sharing our message, leaving encouraging comments, making donations, volunteering, and helping us raise awareness about childhood cancer.
Every conversation started, every post shared, and every act of generosity brings us one step closer to a future where every child has access to timely diagnosis, quality treatment, and compassionate support.
But our work is far from over. Children in Nigeria are still being diagnosed with cancer every day. Many families continue to face financial hardship, limited access to specialist care, and the emotional weight of navigating treatment.
As we step into a new month, we invite you to continue this journey with us. Together, we can give hope, save lives, and ensure that no child faces cancer alone.
π CTA: Make a donation, become a monthly supporter, or share our mission with someone who believes every child deserves a fighting chance. Visit our website to learn more www.akanimocancerfoundation.org
Since the Inception of this foundation we have not been derailed from this Mission. And that is all thanks to you all our amazing supporters. Let's keep the flame burning π
