If you’re a hunter, September is a sacred month and many big game seasons are now in full swing across the country. Do you carry medical supplies in the backcountry? If not why are you gambling? Our advice is to carry a TQ where it is easily accessible by either hand and then a first aid kit in your backpack. Adding an ultralight and multipurpose SAM Splint is a wise choice as well!

Incredible job by Officer Alvarado to save a life!!!!
🫡 Cook County Sheriff Official At approximately 12:50 a.m. on Aug. 26, Sheriff’s Police responded to the 1500 block of Diplomat Lane in Ford Heights where they learned two men had been shot. One man was bleeding heavily and Officer Heather Alvarado used two torniquets to control the bleeding until he got to the hospital. He and the other victim survived. The investigation of the shooting is ongoing.
Hats off to Officer Alvarado for utilizing her training to provide crucial first aid to the victim.
Complacency kills - don’t be your own worst enemy! Maintaining situational awareness is the most overlooked preventative medical treatment out there. Be prepared., stay tuned on and have a great time chasing your dreams this fall.!
