Honestly it is not about the ribbon or the gallery walls filled with my paintings. It’s about the people who inspired these paintings, the people who celebrated those moments with me and the people who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself and the people who gave me the opportunity to do all of it. 1. My first ever watercolor teacher and I when I won a professional show 30 years after I won the Dane show as a 12 year old amateur with a painting i did in her class. Seeing her 30 years later was one of the most amazing moments as an artist because she taught me more than any other teacher I’ve ever had. 2. The first time I was offered a feature at a gallery…galleries were something I never considered as Instagram was enough to sell my work. Enter Eric from Whitespace Art and Event and my perspective changed. Some of my oldest friends and closest friends celebrated with me that evening including my junior prom date. 😂 3. Angie and Sarah from @girls.who.paint gave me a huge opportunity when they offered me a solo exhibition…their belief in me was an absolute honor. The work was a celebration of a bunch of my loved ones and I got to enjoy that opening with my biggest cheerleader and BFF. Gratitude for my friends and loved ones is what makes these events so meaningful to me…success with no one to share it with isn’t success. #artisttales #artistsstories #artistgoals #popartists #womenwhopaint

Artist Jeff Evans - Interaction of Shape within Portraits.
Featuring the 1965 Miss America Contestants as seen in Life Magazine

Jeff Evans is an accomplished painter and photographer based in Bordentown, New Jersey. He has showcased his work in galleries across major cities, including New York City, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Trenton, Los Angeles, and Pasadena.

His paintings and watercolors are predominantly figurative, drawing inspiration from printed magazines, advertising, digital imaging, and collage techniques. Jeff's recent work includes a series of paintings and works on paper inspired by a 1965 Life Magazine advertisement featuring portraits of all fifty Miss America contestants from that year. These pieces explore the interaction of shapes within the portraits, as varying surfaces and paint applications give each piece a unique character.

Jeff holds a Master of Fine Arts from The School of Visual Arts in New York, NY, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. Since 2004, Jeff has been a dedicated photographer at the Princeton University Art Museum, where he specializes in photographing art and cultural heritage materials. His work encompasses visible light photography, multispectral imaging, and 3D modeling using photogrammetry. Jeff’s photography has been prominently featured in over twenty of the museum's scholarly publications.

As an avid museum and gallery visitor, Jeff’s artistic style is deeply influenced by figurative works from the ancient world, Flemish and French painting, as well as Twentieth Century and contemporary art.
