Somewhere along the way, Memorial Day became more about big sales, cookouts, and long weekends than what it was actually meant for.

This day was never about “celebrating” in the traditional sense. It was meant to remember. To pause. To honor the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice so we could live the lives we do so freely today.

As a military family, we want everyone to understand that freedom has always come at a cost. Behind every flag is a story. Behind every folded uniform is a family forever changed.

So yes, enjoy time with your family. Rest. Gather. Be grateful. But don’t let consumerism drown out the meaning of this day.

Today, we remember the fallen.
And we make sure their sacrifice is never forgotten.🇺🇸
